In humans, gamma-glutamyl hydrolase is encoded by the GGHgene.[7][9][10] This gene catalyzes the hydrolysis of folylpoly-gamma-glutamates and antifolylpoly-gamma-glutamates by the removal of gamma-linked polyglutamates and glutamate.[10]
