Glashedy Island (Irish: Glaiséidí) is a rock island approximately 1.6 kilometres (1 mi) from Pollan Bay in Ballyliffin, and about 7 kilometres (4 mi) south of Malin Head, Donegal, Ireland. It is currently uninhabited.
Etymology
Its former name until the early 19th century was Seale Island. The English translation of the name is the Island of the Green Cloak derived from the layer of grass present on the top.
