Lambda2 Fornacis (also called HD 16417) is a 6th magnitude G-type main sequence star located approximately 84 light years away in the constellation of Fornax. It is more massive, hotter, and more metal-rich than the Sun and 300 million years younger.

Planetary system

Precision Doppler spectroscopy from an intensive 48 night observing campaign on the Anglo-Australian Telescope has revealed the presence of a low-mass extrasolar planet orbiting the star.[3]
