Magadhis are an Indo-Aryan ethno-linguistic group who reside in the Magadh region of Bihar and Jharkhand and speak the Magadhi language which is considered by some to be a dialect of Hindi. It is spoken in eight districts of Bihar (Gaya, Patna, Jehanabad, Aurangabad, Nalanda, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Arwal), seven districts of Jharkhand (Hazaribag, Chatra, Koderma, Jamtara, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Giridih) and in West Bengal's Malda district.
