Manaqib Ale Abi Talib
Manaqib Of Ale Abi Talib ( virtues of Abi Talib's household) is known as Al Manaqib is on virtues and characters of Shiite Imams. The book has written by Ibn Shahr Ashoub, a Shiite scholar.[1] The book has referred by both Sunni and Shiiism.[citation needed]

Author
Abu Abdullah Ali Ibn Muhammad Ibn Shahr Ashoub or Ibn Shahraˆshuˆ b(489-588 lunar/1096-1192) was an Imammi theologian and jurist of Mazandaran in Persia. He had the reputation of being the greatest Shiite scholar of his time and was highly thought of even by the Sunnis.[2] he was known as Rashid Al din And Ezza Al Din. He also wrote books such as Al Maalim.
Subject
The book is on virtues and characters of Muhammad, twelfth Imams and companions of Muhammad.
Motive
The Author mentioned reasons for writing the book such as Challenge between Shia and Sunni on Imamate or leadership, distorted narrations by some narrators on the subject of Imamate of Ali.[3]
Authenticity
The book is admired by both Shiite and Sunni scholars and referred by both of them[citation needed].

Ibn Shahr Ashoub also mentioned sections allocated to each Imam from Hasan Ibn Ali to Imam Hasan al-Askari. The book ordered in 4 volumes as follow:
- First volume is concerned to Muhammad's life including prophecy, wars, etc.
- Second volume is concerned to virtues and characters of Ali, also to cruelties against the household of Muhammad chronologically.
- third volume is concerned with Muhammad's sayings on Ali' successorship and reported miracles.
- fourth volume is concerned to life of other Shiite Imams from second Ali ibn hasan to eleventh Imam Hasan Asgari.[3]
Character
There is no chapter or section on twelfth Imam Mahdi, in turn was a significant theological subject in the period. There is no chapter on companions of Muhammad while the author said[citation needed] he will allocate a section on the subject.

The book was first published in Mumbai, India, and next published in Iran, Iraq and Pakistan many times.[5]
