The National Liberal Party was a short-lived Australian political party formed in 1974 by Victorian Liberal Senator George Hannan. The party rejected a perceived leftward trend in the Liberal Party and sought to promote conservatism. Hannan contested the Senate in Victoria for the new party at the 1974 federal election but received only 1.2% of the vote. The party disintegrated soon afterwards.[1]
