"See aftermath" is best advice given a complex outcome undo Tags: Undo references removed

Grant did not settle for a siege until June 18 which means that the Overland Campaign did not end until June 18, 1864. Grant also changed his strategy after the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse, but do we characterize a change in campaigns? No. Furthermore, it has everything to do with Lost Cause mythology. If the Overland Campaign is deemed a Union Victory then that puts Lee's generalship into question. Tell me which major historians thought it was stalemate undo Tag: Reverted
