Pierre-Boucher—Les Patriotes—Verchères is a federal electoral district in Quebec. It encompasses a portion of Quebec formerly included in the electoral districts of Longueuil—Pierre-Boucher and Verchères—Les Patriotes.[2]

Pierre-Boucher—Les Patriotes—Verchères was created by the 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution and was legally defined in the 2013 representation order. It came into effect upon the call of the 42nd Canadian federal election, scheduled for 19 October 2015.[3]

The riding was originally supposed to be named Boucher—Les Patriotes—Verchères.[4]

Profile

The NDP support in this heavily Francophone riding came, in 2011, mostly from the southern end, in Boucherville. The Bloc did well in Varennes and Contrecœur, more in the north of the riding, and less affluent than Boucherville. The Liberals did better in Boucherville than in the northern portions of the riding, although their support was small. Conservative support, as is common in South Shore ridings, was also fairly low.

During the 2015 election the elected MP Xavier Barsalou-Duval has the dubious distinction of being the MP elected with the smallest percentage of the popular vote receiving just 28.6% of the vote.
