Spain was represented by Bacchelli at the Eurovision Song Contest 1981, held in Dublin, Ireland. Bacchelli was selected internally by Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE), the Spanish broadcaster, to represent the country at the contest in Ireland with the song "Y sólo tú".

At Eurovision

Bacchelli performed 10th on the night of the contest, following France and preceding the Netherlands. At the close of voting Bacchelli had received 38 points, placing 14th in a field of 20.
