The result of the move request was: No consensus to move, though there is consensus that a new article, to be called 1971 Philippine Constitutional Convention, could be created. SilkTork ✔Tea time 18:24, 6 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Philippine Constitutional Convention election, 19701971 Philippine Constitutional Convention – Ideally there would be two articles, one about the election and one about the convention itself, but we do not live in an ideal world. There is only one article, this one, and it contains limited information related to the election itself. Most of the article involves the convention (including information that I added today :) ) or is a list of the delegates -- winners of the election -- which is just as applicable to a Convention article. An election article should have information about the non-winning candidates, deadlines and vote process, campaign tactics and issues, controversies, etc. -- in other words more than a list of delegates to the convention. Therefore I propose that this article be moved to the "Philippine Constitutional Convention, 1970" with a subsection specifically about the election with redirects pointing to that subsection, effectively combining the two topics (election and convention) into one article. The convention itself is more significant than the election since it was in the midst of the convention that martial law was declared and since the constitution that came out of the convention and the ratification process solidified and legitimatized Marcos's rule. When and if the election subsection has grown big enough then it can be spun off as a separate article. The page is protected and so I cannot WP:Be Bold and do the move and redirect myself. What do we do in the meantime, while we wait for the expansion? Why not move, expand, divide as an interim strategy? Wouldn't a subsection on the election work for the interim? If this was stripped down to the election information, it wouldn't be much and the resulting convention article wouldn't be much. Putting them together would -- with redirects to the subsections -- give context, avoid duplication, and possibly inspire expansion so that we will have enough material for two separate articles. Perhaps WP:SIZERULE can be a guide.--Iloilo Wanderer (talk) 04:28, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If it's a topic that concerns you so much, then rather than wait, perhaps you could do the expansion yourself? Number 57 11:53, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Update Changed the suggested name to 1971 from 1970. The convention started in 1971 and that is how the convention is called at least at the Official Gazzettee see [1]
