Move

[edit]

I moved the article. There was more than one plane crash in NYC in 2006. Lidle owned the plane. Knocksocksoff (talk) 21:16, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No one is going to intuitively think of Lidle when they think of the plane crash. They'd more likely think about the fact that it happened in Manhattan or that it happened in October 2006. – Epicgenius (talk) 21:23, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 23 June 2023

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: speedy not moved. Nominated by sockpuppet. Other moves can be discussed separately. (closed by non-admin page mover) CLYDE TALK TO ME/STUFF DONE (please mention me on reply) 01:27, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2006 New York City plane crash2006 Lidle Plane Crash in New York City – The reasons: Current vague title. There was more than one plane crash. Lidle owned the plane and most of the coverage was about him. Knocksocksoff (talk) 05:54, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose. No other articles conflict with this title, and no other notable place crashes occurred in 2006 in NYC as you claim, the only incidents are minor damage while taxiing. The proposed title is also confusing, vague, and against WP:DISASTER and WP:NCCAPS Weatherkidnh (talk) 21:18, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose – the wording "in <place>" is never used for these kind of titles. The two alternatives above proposed by RandomInfinity17 would be consistent with current practice, but I don't see a case for moving the article from its present title anyway. -- Deeday-UK (talk) 09:47, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. This not only violates WP:AVTITLE but also is not particularly ambiguous. This is the only plane crash in 2006 in NYC that currently has a Wikipedia article. If it weren't, then the title should be 2006 New York City Cirrus SR20 crash, not "2006 NYC Lidle plane crash" or similar. (I would oppose "2006 New York Cirrus SR20 crash" as actually being less precise, since that refers to an entire state, not just a city.) – Epicgenius (talk) 22:22, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2006 New York City plane crash2006 New York City Cirrus SR20 crash – Let's try this again. The last proposed title was bad enough to kill the request even without the sockpuppetry, but specifying the type of aircraft should help matters. O.N.R. (talk) 01:21, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
