Internal pages: Something like: [2][3]). Such pages are not fluff, but can be good places to find recruits for the project, possibly including subject-matter experts, especially if cross-referenced to the project. Also, Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Cue sports (cf. [4][5][6]).
Create timelines, both textual and graphical. See link for various guidelines and examples. We need an overall one for cue sports generally, and more specific ones as we drill down into more specific topics (timeline of nine-ball, timeline of Willie Mosconi's career, etc.).
Form sections: Exhibition game needs section on cue sports; could later form a new article with "Main article..." xref to it. What other general articles need cue sports sections?
Images: improve articles with images from commons; create pics and add them to commons as GFDL/CC-by/PD.
Add: {{Sport overview}} to main articles of cue games that are real sports; medal table tags where they apply (see Ding Junhui for example).
Insert: Cue sports events (tournament results, etc.) into the "year in sports" categories (e.g. 1965 in sports), using {{subst:Cue sports heading}} if that year doesn't have one yet.
I think there might be a couple of errors in the winnings table:
In group 1, Ali Carter won 11 frames so his group total and overall total should be 1,100.
In group 2, Ryan Day won 11 frames so his group total should be 1,100 and his overall total should be 4,300.
So - I think:
The group 1 total should be 20,500.
The group 2 total should be 20,000.
The overall total should be 40,500. 2A00:23C4:C97:D401:C6A:1FF9:AAE9:D2F7 (talk) 12:41, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your maths is correct, so I checked the official source as well to make sure where exactly the error occurred. You are right that it's just a calculation error. I will change the winnings table to reflect the official source. Storm0005 (talk) 13:21, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
On second thought, we should probably open this up to a larger discussion for the following reason: The data in the official source is partially incorrect. It lists Matthew Selt's winnings in League 1 as £4,100, while our winnings table states that he won £4,400. Our number is correct, as it is made up of the following factors: 12 frames in the league matches is 12*£100=£1,200. Add to that the 4 frame wins in the play off stage (4*£300=£1,200) you get £2,400 plus the 2 grand for reaching the final puts him at £4,400.
Should we do the calculations ourselves (and do them correctly) or should we copy the numbers from the source, even though they are incorrect? This is a conflict between being correct and being sufficiently sourced. Storm0005 (talk) 13:31, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think it would be better to do the calc yourself (as I do on a little spreadsheet) and that way it will be correct. The source will often be incorrect until the tournament is complete. This has happened in previous years. 2A00:23C4:C97:D401:20AD:6539:CCF4:2DF2 (talk) 20:10, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Here's another thought. The source lists the value of each element (frame, play-off frame, high-break etc) in £. Although they have yet to specify those for the winners' group. They also list correctly the number of frames each player has won during the groups. So - if they can't get their sums right, it's not really your problem. 2A00:23C4:C97:D401:20AD:6539:CCF4:2DF2 (talk) 20:35, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've checked all entries again, corrected the mistakes you found and also added the 500 quid Kyren Wilson won from having the highest break in group 3. All information in the winnings table should (fingers crossed) be correct now. Storm0005 (talk) 10:10, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
