Germany Origin?

If this article is accurate that the lady brought the signs back from Germany then wouldn't these actually have been produced by someone over there before the American production?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Low Sea (talk • contribs) 15:08, 31 March 2008‎

It would be useful to find such a company. My personal recollection is also of seeing 'Baby an Bord' stickers in Germany in the mid '80s before they appeared in the UK. paypwip (talk) 15:54, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

It's just a saying. No one owns it. Per WP:MOSCAPS ("Wikipedia avoids unnecessary capitalization") and WP:TITLE. The article title should be downcased. Lowercase will match the formatting of related article titles. • While I agree with your logic on the surface, when searching (and excluding the movie of the same name in the results) I usually find it in all caps, or with all three words with first caps, or with both starting 'B's capped. I rarely ever find it with only the starting 'B' capped. While the name isn't trademarked, it is still a "headline" of sorts, a somewhat "formal" announcement. I don't think it is a major problem with either spelling, and a note as to the alternate cap'ing can be made at the head of the article I suppose, just wanted to share my findings. • I stated as much in my first sentence. So why don't we change the title to all caps, since that is the most common usage? Absurd, of course. So what we are left with is "what makes the most sense?". I also did not see anything in WP:TITLE that required we decap the third word. MOS says we should rely on reliable sources, but the problem is that every reliable source I find (and I have looked, although not exhaustively) uses the spelling "Baby on Board", however, it is always within a proper title, telling us nothing. In the end, I find that it usually refers to the sign proper, either directly or in comparison, which makes it a borderline proper noun, even if a generic one, but a "title" nonetheless. We capitalize a Stop sign in the middle of a sentence (see our own article or any other article on signs), because that word is on the sign itself, making it title. Again, it isn't a huge issue, but I do lean toward maintaining it as is. Dennis Brown (talk) 15:44, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

• Borderline oppose. The recent spate of RMs to remove unnecessary capitalization seems to overlook the basic priority of article titles: To be recognizable to readers, unambiguous, and consistent with usage in reliable English-language sources (WP:TITLE of course). Capitalization is only unnecessary when it doesn't serve this purpose. I can argue this particular case both ways, and would keep the capital I think on balance but no big deal. But the rationale given for the move above is pure rhetoric IMO, and contains basic logical flaws (what part of WP:TITLE, for example?); Dennis Brown on the other hand is making sense. • Support. Both the Miami Herald and the Daily Mail lower case this phrase. "For page titles, always use lowercase after the first word, and do not capitalize second and subsequent words, unless the title is a proper noun." That's the opening of WP:CAPS. I salute Tony for creating RMs for all these articles with nonconforming titles.
