Rewrite Needed[edit]

I'm doing the rewrite of the page since it's been tagged as needing a language clean up. Right now, I feel the introduction is too long and the whole article is pretty chunky and difficult to read. I think it need to be broken down into smaller sections and that section on Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Edition moved into a separate article if possible.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'd appreciate input before I make any changes that someone else may have to undo because it doesn't match a guideline or structure for pages on gaming.

I just reduced the intro a bit, trimmed some info not relating specifically to this enhanced version. I'm not very familiar with the game (although I've played it some). I was planning to move on and copyedit section by section, but I will gladly wait until you've done some rewriting if you would prefer.

Hi Matt. It isn't that I wanted to do it myself; I had wanted someone else watching the page while I worked on it. The work you did is awesome, though. Reads much better now.

The embedded image is as pointless a graphic as I've ever seen! It's far too small to show anything. Nicholls.graham (talk) 19:11, 11 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Retail?![edit]

wow, if this is true, it's the best video-game related news I've heard in years! I don't care how much it costs, I want this on disc ^_^ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.183.127.34 (talk) 23:07, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wow![edit]

I really hope that they do well with this. I'm having a hard time imagining a Baldur's Gate 3 though.

More new bugs, than new features[edit]

Just add please an info, that this new EE Version got more bugs than new features. Its a shame, but thats how money hungry people are trying to make new games. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.68.26.129 (talk) 13:59, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can you provide some reliable sources with that information? Thanks. —Torchiest talkedits 14:04, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rules Set and References[edit]

First of all, Baldur’s Gate was not written as a D&D2-game, but as an AD&D2-game; there is a major difference there. According to Wikipedia’s own article on the D&D-editions, at the time of release, the reigning editions were D&D5 and AD&D2 revised. This should be corrected in the article.

Also, the references stated supporting the claim of the rules edition used for the game, do not say anything about this matter. New, valid sources should be found.

Infinity engine redirect[edit]

User:Ferret - Can't understand why this edit was reverted. It is clear that the link I changed tries to take the reader to a specific section of the target article, rather than just the generic article lead itself - i.e. Infinity Engine redirects to BioWare#Infinity_Engine (a section of the article that does not exist) which is obviously "broken" given that this redirect wants the reader to see the IE related detail discussed in Bioware#Technology (a section of the article that does exist). JabberJaw (talk) 03:00, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

To help future readers, I have edited the section redirect link page following the above logic. Thanks. JabberJaw (talk) 03:04, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If a redirect breaks, fix it as you have already. :) fixing the redirect once fixes all uses at the same time. Piping to a section would be broken the next time the anchor changes and is harder to find. -- ferret (talk) 03:13, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
