Catholic population?

[edit]

The Demographics section doesn't say this. Having visited last summer it's clearly a loyalist town and judging by the union jacks everywhere it probably has a very large underclass. 79.97.154.238 (talk) 12:26, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Whilst this comment is quite old now, the blatant anti-British attitude of the IP is clearly on display in their original comment. On the shortened comment points - whilst it is common to equate religion and political outlook on the island of Ireland, it is not an accurate barometer for making such conclusions. Also it is highly subjective and derogatory to simply lump somewhere as having a "very large underclass" because they fly the flag of their country and have a British identity - which ironically was a term and identity pioneered by King James I who granted Bushmills whiskey with its grant to distill. BushmillsBushmills, County Antrim – As far as I can see, the village is not the primary topic. In this Google News search, 36 of the first 50 hits are for the eponymous Old Bushmills Distillery, which is commonly known as "Bushmills".
I don't think that there is a primary topic, 'cos the town predominates in this JSTOR search. So per WP:TWODABS, the bare title Bushmills should be a dab page. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 01:09, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support: The distillery and the brand of whiskey it produces is very well known as "Bushmills". Many people looking for "Bushmills" would be looking for that instead of the village. — BarrelProof (talk) 02:49, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
