This article needs a lot of imporvement

  • The most obvious thing about this article is the lack of sources for the blazing claims in the article of illegal activities and thuggery. Although this guy is dead, he would still have relatives who have inherited his business and might have something to say about the legality of their operations
There were 22 references from 15 sources. To say that there is a lack sources is unfair. Additional ones will be provided, the more the better. His relatives have a lot to say about their operations, and they will have to do so before the courts where they are charged and sometimes already convicted for murder and illegally running a gambling business as you can read in the article itself. - Mafia Expert (talk) 09:14, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • The article needs a thorough copyedit
    • "relapsing student" does this mean he often failed and was to repeat courses?
    • "suborning referees to facilitate the victory for the team" - > "intimidating referees into giving his team assistance" etc is clearer
  • The lead definitely needs to be expanded
  • This person should generally not be referred to by his first name, unless it is a custom of South American names to go by first name, like eg Sikhs, eg, see Harbhajan Singh or Yuvraj Singh
It is very common in Brazil to go by first name, even for the president. Former president Fernando Henrique Cardoso is known as Fernando Henrique. The current president Lula is even known by his nickname alone, and I wonder how many people know his real name. And how many people know the family names of world famous soccer players such Pele, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. It is also obvious when you look at the headlines of the newspaper articles in the reference section. If you review an article, some knowledge about the subject and the context might be expected. Tip: have a look in Wikipedia. - Mafia Expert (talk) 09:14, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Article should explain who "Paulo Robert de Andrade" is - presumable his brother. In the second para of the "illicit gambling empire" section, there is a list of operations without explaining what any of them are or how they worked. There is not much explanation of how his businesses operated and what he had when he inhertied from his brother. What did he do before he inherited the family empire
  • It would be good to put a timeline on his rise and attribute them to years.
  • "Castor brazenly rose to power despite his reputation" - how did he expand his power?
  • Is it possible to explain why the generals try to impress him? What could he offer them?
  • Do we know who told the Secretary of Security to placate him? what favours did the authorities give to him?
  • The gun incident and threatening soccer refs definitley needs to be sourced.
  • POv wording - "condemning ferociously the persecution of bicheiros" and " for the umpteenth time"
  • More information should be given on the trail so that we know what activities were perpetrated by these organisations if possible.
  • Was Castor held in jail when he was on trial? Did he break out of prision?
  • "The phrase can be apocryphal but it's revealing of the way jogo do bicho operates, getting the best Police money can buy" - personal analysis
  • Need source for corruption inside the jail allowing him to run parties and hotels inside his cell, disrespecting house arrest etc.
