Is He of French Descent?

[edit]

His name suggests that he is. Futurist110 (talk) 01:28, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking of descent - and maybe it's totally just me - but is he of South African Coloured descent? I swear, to me, he looks as if he might have at least one grandparent of partial black African descent. There is just something about his facial features. --Criticalthinker (talk) 07:08, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not that it would matter if Chad is or is not, but being a South African myself I am pretty sure he is of "Caucasian" descent only. CriticalThinker is clearly not from South Africa and seems to be dragging race into the equation where it is neither needed nor necessary. I said "seems to be". I don't want to start a race war! Sentence to be rewritten?

[edit]

I think this sentence needs to be rewritten: Le Clos had stated before the games, in personal information given to the media, that his sporting hero is Michael Phelps, and that beating his hero was totally unexpected. It sounds as if Le Clos spoke about how he unexpectedly beat Phelps before the Games had even begun, no? Mieliestronk (talk) 22:23, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Biography

[edit]

The entire article is a biography per se, so it seems redundant to have a sub-section titled "Biography". Perhaps the section should be renamed "Background" or something similar? Maybe even split into two sections titled "Early life"/"Early years" and "Personal life" as done in some other articles about notable swimmers such as Mark Spitz, Michael Phelps, Ian Thorpe, Peter Evans (swimmer) (both Thorpe's and Evans' articles are FA's fwiw). Just a suggestion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:20, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
