[edit]I've got more than a couple questions about 'Digital Anvil' - I've been a bit of a student lately, and noticed a bit about some of the scenes/symbology... and I just recently noticed that you helped out with a couple Nicholas Cage movies. I'm not much of a programmer, just an avid researcher who'd like to know how to plug in & be useful. http://honorablepassion.wiki.com/steps - some of my research for the last 3 mos or so.

(game developer) not (film producer)
[edit]The title is simply going to confuse people. "He is best known for creating the popular Wing Commander series while employed at Origin Systems." Is it (film producer) simply because that's what he does now?68.32.5.81 (talk) 07:21, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- I agree - he is best known for his video games. It seems the disambiguation was added by somebody who quickly scanned the article to see what he does (it was originally just titled Chris Roberts). If he had recently become a lawyer but the whole article was about his time as a video game programmer, would the title be Chris Roberts (lawyer)?Retro junkie (talk) 00:54, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
- Moot at this point, since he's gone back to being a game developer again... not that future films are out of the question, but none being produced right now. 24.245.39.96 (talk) 03:55, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Sources
[edit]Hi,
So about the edit about him being the director of wing commander it says it on the actual page of wing commander 1990, and may I ask what sources are reliable? 220.244.237.205 (talk) 02:23, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
It even says that he is the director in wing commander 1990 video showing the opening and ending credits, which i can't link but it is on youtube, and the video has chris roberts as a director there— Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.244.237.205 (talk) 03:07, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
- Please provide the youtube link. Credits from the game on Youtube is fine to validate them. I cannot find a video of the first game myself, but the credits I can find for WC1 do not list a Director at all. He is Lead Designer. Original Privateer credits likely have him only as Executive Productor and "original design" -- ferret (talk) 12:18, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dyJqLxjUpyg&feature=youtu.be here is the link — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.244.237.205 (talk) 13:01, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
- That works for WC1 then. -- ferret (talk) 13:08, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
Should we at least add a disambiguation?
[edit]As of my posting this, A UCLA commentator named Chris Roberts had recently died. It might be good to add a disambiguation so people will know "Oh this guy is still alive, look for this fellow MetricPin (talk) 00:16, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
