Questions about sources
[edit]It appears that most, if not all, of the print sources that this article uses are saved in various subpages of this research site. I am attempting to convert the sources into using citation templates with urls, but I have some questions.
First, I cannot find citation #8 in the research site. It is listed as "Book: Единый художественный рейтинг. Справочник. Выпуск 12. – 36157 художников. – М.: АЛЕВ-В, 2006. – ISBN 5-94025-081-6 Parameter error in {{ISBN}}: checksum. – 447 с. Тираж 5000 экз." The ISBN does not appear to be a valid ISBN. Is this book available at the research site?
Second, citations #10 and #11 appear to refer to the exact same article, but once in Lithuanian (stored here), and once in Russian (stored here). Is that correct? If these articles have the same information, the references should probably be combined.
Thanks, – Quadell (talk) 18:35, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
Fantastic! What you did will be of tremendous help to the readers and makes the article much more professional. Regarding your questions:
1. That source is Russian artist rating catalog. It is not on the official site, however I have it in my library and can confirm that the artist is there. I can also send scans of pages where he is mentioned in that book should you need them. Also this catalog is on Wikipedia ( see: Единый художественный рейтинг ) just not that exact year. I did find this exact catalog online - here is the link: http://rating.artunion.ru/archive.htm - scroll down to XII version. In all likelihood Znamierowsky is on the version of this catalog that is on Wikipedia right now but since I did not inspect that version personally, I cannot be sure and thus use it as a source.
2. Those articles are very close to being the same. It was a single news-agency that printed two newspapers one in Lithuanian and one in Russian, for every release. Generally the content of the whole newspaper was the same, they came out under the same date and number. That said there were differences in overall content of the newspaper and the articles. These two particular articles are almost the same but there are differences in them as well, from the way the title is worded to the understanding of the content. Also because Russian and Lithuanian are very different languages the perception of the articles are slightly different so I treated them as two separate sources by same author. If you feel the need to combine them, go right ahead I don't mind, but do think they should be kept separate especially for the Lithuanian and Russian readers who will recognize their language first.
Let me know if you have anymore question. Cheers! Earthsphere (talk) 03:10, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
- As for point 1, your information helped me to format the book into a citation template. Thank you. As for point 2, that's fine, so long as the articles aren't identical. – Quadell (talk) 14:02, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
Glad I could help! If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask. Also I added WikiProejct Latvia to this Talk page as the artist was Latvian by Nationality / Birth and lived there until 1926. Earthsphere (talk) 15:48, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
