Quote in Big Brother incorrect[edit]

IT SAYS "On January 17, 2007, Lloyd said Shetty should just "go home", adding that "she can't even speak English properly".[13] She in fact said "i think she should just fuck off back home" This is a significant difference. I propose that we correct it. Daveegan06 19:40, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Racism[edit]

It is very clear to anyone that Lloyd has been on Shilpa's case ever since she joined big brother. She is also the clear leader of this hate camplaign. The quotes in the main article, plus the much worse ones that aren't there make it plain that this person is into extreme racist attacks against Indian people, and has made very clear her wider views, and this should be mentioned. It is also worrying that it is being reported that these views are widely held in other parts of England. I really do hope that Lloyd is a one-off. Wallie 22:02, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The information regarding her apparent racist attitudes is well covered in the article. There should be no more than the current amount though as the issue is not as important to this article as the other stuff and expanding it further would be giving it undue weight.-Localzuk(talk) 23:17, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The racial and central element of Lloyd's history must be mentioned. She is the obvious ringleader in this hate campaign. Note that it is usual for the leader to egg some loud mouth (like Jade) on, and every now an then, chip in, and express the same sentiments in a more lucid eloquent way. Wallie 07:35, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The number of complaints (to OFCOM) is now over 30,000 which I believe makes it the most complained about program in British history. However, there seems to be very little evidence that racism is her motive though. It seems clear to me that her intention is to bond with her group and bullying Shilpa is her ill-conceived method of achieving this. I think cultural and race differences are just the most obvious and conveniant tool to do that. I think she shocked herself when she realised that she had used the classic racist slogan '...should ... go home...', and I bet her parents were very surprised as well. To my view the bullying aspect of the situation is outrageous enough and should not be condoned regardless of whether she used racist comments intentionally or otherwise. I think the (possible) racism is a sign of her own ignorance rather than anything more sinister (but should still be addressed as this is how most racist actions begin). 81.178.0.151 17:23, 19 January 2007 (UTC) Matt.[reply]

I really can't go along with this. Lloyd was using these tactics before any anti-Shilpa group was formed, and even before Jade appeared!. You cannot claim "ignorance" as she is highly acedemic, and has had many years of media and international experience. She knows exactly what she is doing. She was trying to deliver a clear message using the media. People outside her country do not necessarily agree with her sentiments. Wallie 11:22, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Was she shocked at having "realised that she had used [a] classic racist slogan" or because she had just realised she had expressed a personally-held view that just might damage her career out loud on camera? She had already admitted to being anti-imigration before going into the house, and I agree that she is not that ignorant (although I wouldn't go so far as to say she is *highly* academic!!!!)

With regard to her racist comments while inside the Big Brother house: An important quote from Danielle is missing from her biographical information. She said, very clearly, that the reason people in India are 'all skinny is because none of them can cook, so they're sick all the time'.82.35.42.66 18:19, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The reason why is that Jo said this, not Danielle. Wallie 18:41, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The whole racism issue has been blown completely out of proportion, and the sensitivity of the British Media in this case disgusts me. Calling someone 'a dog' is not a racist comment. Nor is telling them to 'fuck off home' when Shilpa Shetty is indeed a foreign national. It would apply if she was white but of French, German, or whatever nationality. Hell, you can even tell people to 'go home' if you're fed up of them generally. The only remotely racist comment was the one about stubble. Any comments about food or eating are born from cultural ignorance, not racism. Xzamuel 15:38, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion in category "White nationalists"[edit]

Looking at the sources, I think it's inappropriate to include Lloyd in Category:White nationalists, especially considering one of the sub-categories there is Category:Nazis. From the Independent article source:

"I am not a politician but...
If I was, I'd get more people into work and stop people coming into the country. There's so many people who come into England because they know they can get benefits. People who already live here should get the jobs. But I don't really know much about politics."
Also Lloyd said that Shilpa wanted to be white. I cannot think of a clearer example. The comment about "F*** OFF"... even denies Shilpa the right to exist outside her own country! Wallie 07:46, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Being against immigration is not enough to warrant inclusion in this category alongside Ku Klux Klan founders and Adolf Hitler, especially since the subject admits a lack of political awareness. Unless someone provides a convincing source for this I will remove it, since as well as being incorrect it is probably a violation of WP:BLP policy on potentially libellous material. QmunkE 10:00, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Those accusations are still accusations. They haven't been proven. We cannot publish libel under any condition. That category looks libellous enough. See WP:LIVING, pointed out by administrator WAvegetarian. Tragicomedian 10:05, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No this is a category. It is not an accustion. If this was the case all other members of the category are similarly affected. Wallie 07:46, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Since no further sources have been added for this, I have removed the article from Category:White nationalists. If at some point a reliable source appears to support a claim Lloyd is a nationalist, it should be referenced in the article body explicitly and then re-added to the category. Any re-addition before that should be discussed on the talk page. QmunkE 17:46, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So why remove the category "Racism" too (don't know if it was thee)? Wallie 07:46, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have gone ahead and removed the racism category from the article. This article is not in any way related to the articles found in the racism category Category:Racism. Also, the racism is alleged as of now; it has not been proved. Please see WP:LIVING, WP:V, WP:RS and WP:CITE. Thanks. Tragicomedian 08:21, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The category of racism is what this "debate" is about. Does any comment ever get beyond "alleged racism"? Wallie 08:36, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Classism[edit]

Surely she has been accused of classist rather than elitist remarks. I don't think we could find a source alleging elitism, but for classism - Trevor Phillips: "What we are seeing is a noxious brew of old-fashioned class conflict, straightforward bullying, ignorance and quite vicious racial bigotry," (quoted in this article). Saluton 00:45, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree, "They eat with their hands in India, don't they - or is that China? You don't know where her hands have been...". This is one of the typical elitist comments, to reinforce that speaker is a member of an elite which does not indulge in such practices, and also does not need to know anything about the other person's home, just that it is "inferior".. Classist is to general, as it can apply in both directions, up and down. Wallie 13:55, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just to point out that that particular comment was said by Jo O'Meara, not Danielle Lloyd.--Jackyd101 21:54, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nope. Twas Danielle. [1] :) Wallie 23:38, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry confused it with the "thin" quote--Jackyd101 23:41, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK. :) Wallie 22:30, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Backstabber[edit]

She backstabbed Jade in the last programme shown- and also fakingly made up with Shilpa to save her own skin. I think this should be added to the article by an established editor. 86.143.134.17 15:21, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you can provide a reliable source stating that these 2 'facts' are what happened then it can be. Else, if it is your opinion of her actions then it cannot be added as it is original research and would be a violation of WP:BLP.-Localzuk(talk) 15:25, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Date of death[edit]

Folks, whilst the page is locked for editing, perhaps you should edit out the most egregious of vandalism: her date of death is listed. BB didn't have coverage of it, or a vote, so I can only presume she still breathes.

Racism[edit]

The racism is now official, right from the "horse's mouth"... [2] No need to use "alleged". Wallie 23:51, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

White British[edit]

As an objective onlooker I would like to query the inclusion of her ethnicity on her profile bar. Those kind of details seem more at home on a prison detail. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rorser (talkcontribs) 00:51, 23 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

A model's ethnicity is relevant. Jim Michael (talk) 17:03, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bad grammar[edit]

The article says "Born in Penny Lane, Liverpool in 1983, Lloyd's parents, Jackie and Arthur Lloyd are a bank manager and an engineer, respectively.". So Lloyd's parents were both born in Penny Lane in 1983? Anonymous 23:45, 23 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I fixed it, just for you. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 00:41, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Boyfriend[edit]

"Playboy" magazine, and her tabloid alleged affair with one of the judges, her then footballer boyfriend Teddy Sheringham."

What do you mean 'then' boyfriend that is the past tense she is still going out with Teddy!

Article titled, "Dani IS dumped". http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/showbiz/showbiznews.html?in_article_id=432747&in_page_id=1773 She is no longer with Teddy Sheringham. 82.152.61.185 01:55, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

False measurements[edit]

You list Danielle's waist as measuring 23 inches, and her hips as 34. It's very easy to tell just by looking at her that her waist isn't 23 inches. Both Maxim ( http://www.maximmag.co.uk/missmaxim2006/latestgirls/3740/danielle_lloyd.html ) and this article referring to her participatipn in miss britain ( http://www.voodootonic.com/Article.asp?id=144527 ) list her waist as 25 inches and her hips as 35. Given that the measurements she releases to the media are most likely already fudged a bit, her measurements definitely need adjusting upwards to at least the 34-25-35 both references list. 82.152.61.185 01:36, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

File:Http://images.radcity.net/4195/1212886.jpg picture of danielle before breast implants. you can see the gap between her chest (on the left side) and the padded bikini top. you should mention her breast implants, since she is a glamour model and you list many women's "enhanced" status with their measurements. 82.152.61.185 01:46, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also 138 lbs is definitely not 49kg. I'm not sure but it's closer to 118. mirageinred

Jermaine Defoe[edit]

I removed the line stating she was engaged to footballer Jermaine Defoe, as the only reference cited by the editor was a celebrity blog which made no mention of the two being engaged; here. A google news search for Defoe and Lloyd returns less than 30 articles with most saying the two have only been dating since November, shortly after Defoe's split with fiancé Charlotte Mears; here. JonBradbury (talk) 09:28, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

modelsobserver.com links[edit]

This and other Wikipedias in other languages have been relentlessly spammed by anonymous IPs based in Israel (where the domain is registered) for many months. It's gotten sufficiently bad as to warrant addition to the spam blacklist and I have removed a number of these links in anticipation of blacklisting:

Most, but not all, had been added by the site-owner.

If an established, high-volume editor sees value to the specific link I deleted from this article, please let me know and it can be evaluated for addition to the spam "whitelist"

Daughter of David Lloyd[edit]

I do not think so!! David Lloyd has a posh accent, so how did she get a Scouse accent? Other sources give her dad as an engineer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.7.209.171 (talk) 22:35, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unbalanced section under references[edit]

Someone's added a section of text in the references section about her assault case without references and with a seemingly unbalanced tone towards the outcome of the case. Could someone find a citation and balance it out a bit? Lexusperplexus (talk) 11:22, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
