Capacity

The capacity figures on different articles conradict eachother. Are there any reliable sources for the capacities of the stand and the ground as a whole?

Can't help you on that one but it seems quite unlikely that it could hold 12,000+. Are the any references for the future capacity which the article states to be 25,000? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.83.71.202 (talk) 08:05, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Rename

I moved the article from Donnybrook Rugby Ground to Donnybrook Stadium to which it is consistently referred to as in the media and on the official Leinster Site [1] [2]. Fionnsci (talk) 10:21, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

• Oppose - Per notes above - on conventions. And per WP:OFFICIALNAMES and WP:COMMONNAME - as guidelines/norms. In general terms, unless and until a new or sponsorship name enters common use (to the extent that it becomes the common name), then articles should remain as they are. • Comment - Hi. 331dot made a change as they were trying to help me out as I am not fully familiar with the editing process. I think I made the point to 331dot that there are a number of stadiums in the UK especially that are called by sponsorship names as well as the Aviva here in Ireland. The Energia Park sponsorship is for a 10 year period which is open for renewal as well. Can you explain why I can locate a number of stadia in the UK and Ireland that are now called as their sponsorship name on Wiki? The name of Donnybrook Stadium is currently in common use yes, but this will not be the case in the coming months as media begin to use the new name. Which way would you suggest a redirect work? Rename

I would like to raise this again. The stadium is no longer called Donnybrook Stadium and is referred to as Energia Park. I can share the examples of this if you like. Also the point made previously about "sport venues in the UK and Ireland should not be titled under their sponsor name", how do locations such as the Aviva & Emirates Stadium and more work around this? Or is this a case that a new page needs to be set up? As I mentioned before I am not familiar with all the technicalities of Wiki editing but this seems like there should be a simple way to make this updateJcoleman10 (talk) 09:14, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

I strongly advise you to review the previous discussion on this issue(linked to above). It isn't hard from a technical standpoint to retitle an article, the question is if it is a good idea to do so. Current policy and standard practices support the current name. I can't speak to the other stadium names(perhaps they are the common name). 331dot (talk) 09:20, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

And that being said, if you're relying on Emirates Stadium or Aviva Stadium (say) for examples ... other than UEFA competitions, they've never been known as anything else.
