Infobox removal
[edit]Almost empty infobox rv as per WP:MOS: “The most important group to consider are the casual readers of Wikipedia, who will never do any significant editing. Infobox templates that contain many blank fields, question marks and unknowns present an unprofessional appearance, diminishing Wikipedia’s reputation as a high-quality encyclopedia.” Quis separabit? 02:06, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
Place of birth
[edit]Can anyone confirm that the place of birth is Capetown? IMDb gives Johannesburg. Skinsmoke (talk) 15:27, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
- I can't confirm and being that it is IMDB it could be wrong as well as it is user generated too. To be honest I am skeptical of the whole page since the socks started hitting it. -DJSasso (talk) 03:33, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
Date of birth
[edit]Originally, this article said her date of birth was 1 August 1926. However, as far as I can see, this was only sourced to IMDB (see this on the Wayback Machine).
However, at some point this was changed to 22 June 1926. The first time that this appeared to happen was here. The edit summary was “I'm Doreen Mantle's grandson, he is born in June". This is not verified, reliable, and it's original research. However, this seemed to stick.
At some point after this, IMDB changed her DOB to 22 June 1926, which I can only presume is as a result of Wikipedia changing it (which shows just how reliable IMDB is, and indeed, the dangers of circular referencing).
I think her DOB should just be reverted to "1926". -- Ollie231213 (talk) 17:45, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
- I agree and just did that. I'm not sure when it was added because there are so many junk edits but I think "26 June" was added recently (possibly after being removed previously). Johnuniq (talk) 09:54, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for looking into this Johnuniq. It is hard to keep up with the socks of Dopenguins (talk · contribs) on this (and other) articles. MarnetteD|Talk 09:59, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
