Cover artist

[edit]
Possible error (heading was "Possible error in cover artist" -P64)

I'm sorry if this is not the case, but in looking for the cover artist for this book, Joojay Huyn doesn't appear to exist.86.178.27.97 (talk) 14:15, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Resolved momentarily. --P64 (talk) 18:20, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
... or maybe not. Work in progress on footnote. --P64 (talk) 18:35, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The Internet Speculative Fiction Database (ISFDB) and Official Pern Art, in the Pern Museum maintained by Hans van der Boom, jointly provide much information on the cover artists. The identify about ten cover artists for each of the three Harper Hall books, and provide some image of the front cover or front cover artwork for almost all of them. I am covering the covers in a long footnote to the infobox, where the first edition (US hardcover) cover artist alone is named, "Fred Marcellino (first) and others[1]".
Missing data: first UK edition For the three Harper Hall books, the cover artist is unidentified for only one evidently important edition. That is the first UK edition of Dragonsong, so "Joojay Huyn" cannot be ruled out as someone who should be named here. I have not mentioned J.H. in the note, however, for we have no evidence but the unexplained unsupported insertion of that name in one 2008-06-01 revision. The editor was identifed only by IP address and this is the only contribution to Wikipedia from that IP address.
When that name was inserted, the infobox already listed mistakenly "Country: United Kingdom" along with the first edition (US) publisher and ISBN. --P64 (talk) 22:00, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
