Overview needed
[edit]This page badly needs a summary assessment of Ferrante's work by someone who has actually read her books.Alafarge (talk) 22:33, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
- If you're interested in stupid novels, yes.
Editing this article
[edit]User:Siankevans - Let's work on this article together! Perhaps I will write an article also for "Days of Abandonment." OR drohowa (talk) 20:44, 31 May 2015 (UTC) OR drohowa Agreed! I can work on the Neapolitan Novels. --Siankevans (talk) 14:59, 7 June 2015 (UTC) AnonNeed urgent advice how to remove history detail from article's history tab. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.147.1.100 (talk) 12:01, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
Her real name
[edit]Her real name is Anita Raja which has been newly discovered.[1] It should be added to the article. Frkkn (talk) 10:32, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- As soon as we have sufficient independent reliable sources, we surely will. Now, there is just that one primary source. But if you read the article, you will see that we mention the alleged name and the source in the section Elena Ferrante#Anonymity. - DVdm (talk) 11:27, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- Additionally, her real name "could be" Anita Raja, which as DVdm confirms, is already present on the page. It's just an analysis by a journalist based on real estate and royalties records. When we know "for sure", we'll also add it in the lead. Best, Nairspecht (talk) (work) 13:34, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- At the current stage her being anita Raja is just plausible theory with strong evidence, but by no means a certainty or a fact.--Kmhkmh (talk) 15:34, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- Gatti's article sounds like sour grapes and envy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.148.39.143 (talk) 20:55, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
- More importantly Gatti's publication is not definitive proof, also there a high probability that he's correct.--Kmhkmh (talk) 22:57, 12 October 2016 (UTC)

1943
[edit]If Elena's identity is subject to doubt, it is odd that the year of her birth is known. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7D:B300:C700:6077:27CF:BF8C:1AF7 (talk) 14:13, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
- Her alleged place of birth is given, too, as Naples. This is odd for one allegedly not known, except by a pseudonym. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.216.95.90 (talk) 11:06, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
- Despite being pseudonymous, she's given many interviews, including information ~about herself~, if not her identity. Also, most of her books are based in Naples, so it's not that odd Wingedserif (talk) 18:06, 17 July 2019 (UTC)

Domenico Starnone
[edit]I don't have any sources in English and I haven't dug into this much, but there've been articles in various newspapers saying a text analysis indicates "Elena Ferrante's" books are written by Domenico Starnone, and Starnone's publicist confirmed it. But Starnone says he's not Ferrante.
Someone who knows the topic better could probably find the details easily enough and add them. Great floors (talk) 15:15, 20 September 2017 (UTC)
- Note Starnone is Anita Raja's husband.--Kmhkmh (talk) 17:05, 22 January 2018 (UTC)

Death hoax
[edit]Shouldn't this be added, since it made something of a splash (but don't try to follow the MSN or Yahoo links which show up in an Internet search since clicking on the links gets you to nothing about the author, not even a retraction)?
