WikiProject Biography Assessment

Needs a better photo. Among other things. Narrowly a Start class.

The article may be improved by following the WikiProject Biography 11 easy steps to producing at least a B article. -- Yamara 02:43, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So fix it[edit]

There is very little information on this page.

There is also very little organization.

Can this be rephrased?[edit]

"Wylie's literary interests are largely conservative and formal, as demonstrated by her preoccupation with the sonnet." - The word "conservative" has implications that go well beyond poem structure. 96.231.0.175 (talk) 18:58, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did a full rewrite[edit]

Kept as much as I could of the factual stuff.George Dance (talk) 19:41, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Still only Start Class?[edit]

You mean all that work i put into the article counted for nothing? Or did the rater just copy the other two ratings (that were assigned before I started working on this)? George Dance (talk) 21:53, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While I appreciate your efforts to source the various paragraphs, you have to admit that the article currently reflects other encyclopedia-style entries. It could use a more substantial look into her life. Do you have access to the three biographies listed? Dimadick (talk) 12:38, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"fonds"[edit]

What does "fonds" mean? It is one of the major sub-headings, yet it is not defined in standard dictionaries, unless the relatively rare meaning of foundation, background or base is meant. Headings and sub-headings should avoid obscure terminology. I would change it, but looking at the content, I'm not sure what it's supposed to be about.Kdammers (talk) 03:58, 19 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"In archival science, a fonds is a group of documents that share the same origin and that have occurred naturally as an outgrowth of the daily workings of an agency, individual, or organization.[1] An example of a fonds could be the writings of a poet that were never published or the records of an institution during a specific period." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fonds

"the entire body of records of an organization, family, or individual that have been created and accumulated as the result of an organic process reflecting the functions of the creator (View Citations)" https://dictionary.archivists.org/entry/fonds.html Dgndenver (talk) 14:13, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Questionable source[edit]

This ref[1] to "MagicLink.com" (archived) is used for several sentences in the article. However, the archived website looks like an old blog or personal website; there is no information about the author or their credentials. I'm proposing to remove it entirely and any direct quotes from it as WP:UNDUE and WP:SPS, but I'll wait a few days for objections first. Schazjmd (talk) 23:12, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There being no objections,  Done Schazjmd (talk) 21:13, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
