Epona (character) → Epona (The Legend of Zelda) —
- This should be moved for consistency with Link (The Legend of Zelda). User:Very Big Goron 08:17, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- Seems fair. It was moved from that in the first place. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 00:07, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- Support many characters are named Epona. 70.29.208.247 (talk) 04:48, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Merger discussion
[edit]I would like to oppose the merger of this article for the following reasons:
- There is "significant coverage" of the subject to comply with WP:GNG. Everything in the article is supported by citations.
- The content and creation section provides significant information about the character's creation and development that would be lost or condensed if merged
- Real world impact - the character played a pivotal role in the development of Hyrule Field, the centrepiece of Ocarina of Time and was a first for video games. Quoting Eiji Aonuma: Miyamoto "wanted Ocarina to be unique, and realized that there weren't any other games that involved riding a horse."
- The character is recurring in several Zelda titles, and appears in spin-offs and other video game series.
- Various gaming critics have listed the character as the greatest or one of the greatest video game horses of all time. Fieryninja (talk) 14:22, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
- Support the opposition. English is weird. But yeah, I think the character has enough significant coverage from reliable sources, as well as enough out-of-universe notability.
- DecafPotato (talk) 22:03, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
- Closing the merge proposal for Epona (The Legend of Zelda), with no merge, given that there is no case and the objections are uncontested. Klbrain (talk) 12:33, 22 November 2022 (UTC)

Epona (The Legend of Zelda) → Epona (character) – The only other notable Epona 2605:B40:1303:900:A0E1:7DCB:3582:9C6F (talk) 19:10, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose The disambig is perfectly appropriate here, as changing to (character) may cause confusion with the god Epona.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 06:24, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- My reasoning is that gods and goddesses are not fictional, they are part of religions, so if anything it would be Epona (goddess) 2605:B40:1303:900:A0E1:7DCB:3582:9C6F (talk) 13:45, 20 October 2023 (UTC)

- She is by far the most notable Epona, and the only one with a page besides the goddess, so I don't really see the problem 2605:B40:1303:900:A0E1:7DCB:3582:9C6F (talk) 19:06, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- The agreed upon by WP:CONSENSUS guidelines for the Video Games WikiProject state the game should be used as disambiguation unless the character would be the same as the game's name. There's no real indication why this is an exception. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 19:53, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- Just an example: Min Min (character) isn't called Min Min (ARMS); this is a similar case 2605:B40:1303:900:A0E1:7DCB:3582:9C6F (talk) 19:59, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- I feel like that one was simply called that because Min Min (Arms) (which would be the proper title; the game is called Arms (video game) would be confusing. It's not the same circumstance, and there are massively more character articles disambiguated by their game, such as Ridley (Metroid) and Kane (Command & Conquer) among others... ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 20:29, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- My point is, Min Min is the only fictional character with that name (with an article), and so is Epona 2605:B40:1303:900:A0E1:7DCB:3582:9C6F (talk) 21:54, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
- The thing is, the goddess Epona could still be called a character in my view, if a mythological one, in contrast to the video game character Epona (The Legend of Zelda). So "Epona (character)" would be somewhat confusing. Daranios (talk) 16:29, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- They are characters in a sense, but articles like Juno (mythology) don't refer to them as characters 2605:B40:1303:900:A0E1:7DCB:3582:9C6F (talk) 19:20, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- (title-wise) 2605:B40:1303:900:A0E1:7DCB:3582:9C6F (talk) 19:21, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, but aside from established procedures the question here is, what is the most useful, which also means least likely to be confusing, title for users of Wikipedia not familiar with those procedures. Daranios (talk) 09:12, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
