This article is very skeletal, there really isn't very much elaboration on any of the points made. He has multiple social theories that could easily be added and described. Some of his contributions are named, but are not properly described, and someone who does not have a good level of background knowledge in the field would not be able to grasp what he has done. There is very little information in this stub about the person in question. Despite having a good list of sources and references it ends rather abruptly. The resources and bibliography section seem to be pretty much in order and there is definitely the framework for a good article already set up. I'm going to see if I can find any more information so I can elaborate on Wenger's work and life. This article has very basic information, but there has to be more personal and professional information that can be included. For instance, I am aware that Etienne Wenger has numerous published works, but they are not mentioned in this article. Furthermore, the quality of this article may be improved if a picture of Wenger could be obtained. I've found some scholarly criticisms and more expansive studies of Wenger's work, most notably with communities of practice. I have come upon a few sources that may help improve this article. They consist of an interview that could provide more personal information about Etienne Wenger, as well as a book review which expands on his ideas about communities of practice in his book Cultivating Communities of Practice. • Oppose - He lives and works in the USA. You don't see the acute accent in his listing in Google Scholar. I couldn't find 'Étienne' except in a French translation of one of his books that was done by someone else. EdJohnston (talk) 03:25, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

Thanks Ed, this isn't a big issue and it won't be any injustice to him if we Americanize him, but the problem of Étienne without the accent is that it generally says "South African." But Wenger isn't South African, he's Swiss-French, and there's no evidence that he's now an American citizen, nor that etienne Wenger is functioning as a WP:STAGENAME as might be the case with a French DJ in America, which under WP:FRMOS requires the full accurate spelling of the name.
