Release date controversy[edit]

The toonhound website says 1991, but the article The Snowman says 1987, so I wasn't 100% sure what to put. The article currently states that it is a 1987 film, but released in 1991. Anyone who wants to correct this with the right information please do so.

  • Everything seems to state the YEAR it was released (IMDB also says 1991), but not the DAY - Is it safe to assume it was first aired on Christmas Eve? JaffaCakeLover (talk) 13:48, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Redub?[edit]

How very curious... there are two versions of this on YouTube. The voice on this version is NOT Mel Smith! He's not Northern, and he's not as grumpy as he is in the original version! Was he re-dubbed for the American market or something? Make him jollier, take out the mild swearing? JaffaCakeLover (talk) 16:16, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Aha, I was right! Info gleamed from the credits: Father Christmas voiced by William Dennis-Hunt, American Voice Version Directed by Robby Scharf. JaffaCakeLover (talk) 16:32, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
