Disputed text

[edit]
A person with a keen intellect and a strong sense of discipline ([1]) has been removed again. Before restoring please bear in mind that, although a source is provided, this is plainly editorial praise, which has no place in biographical articles. It is the same as putting text like "A naturally cold-blooded killer" or "A sweet, shy unassuming girl". These are judgments or descriptions any reader can come to after reading the article or studying the subject; they do not need prompts from editors contributing text and are a violation of WP:NPOV. (Mea culpa: I shouldn't have cited WP:CRUFT. More accurate reasons for deleting the text would be WP:NPOV and WP:BIO.) Rms125a@hotmail.com (talk) 14:56, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just to add, obviously there are other examples of this type of non-neutral language in other articles on Wikipedia, to which the editor in question may refer. I can only say that I cannot monitor millions of articles. The editor to whom I referred above is both free and encouraged to clean up non-neutral or POV language wheresoever he/she may find it. [edit]

There's an interview with Duff https://sites.google.com/site/faithfulcatholics/Home/devotion-to-mary/legion-of-mary/frank-duff/a-living-autobiography/interview-3 where he discusses his friendship with Gabbet in detail. Gabbet was not a soldier at all. He was a boot-maker. I realize the source cited for him being a Sergeant Major is an official Legion history but they may well be wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.72.244.157 (talk) 16:15, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
