Mark83, I saw the same discrepancy with sentence vs. reference, but didn't know how to deal with it, so left it alone. Thanks for handling that.Rosiestephenson 00:12, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Freshandeasy.png

[edit]

Image:Freshandeasy.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:37, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SoCal locations

[edit]

The official website also lists Oak Park and Simi Valley as future locations.LorenzoB 01:03, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I really don't think that listing store locations is a proper concern of an encyclopedia article. Carina22 16:57, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, and removed them. Rosiestephenson (talk) 01:41, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Turnover per store

[edit]

Does anyone have a rough idea what sort of turnover a 10,000 square foot grocery store might be expected to have in the U.S.? Knowing that would help to put the scale of this business into context with Tesco as a whole. Carina22 16:57, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Employee pay and benefits

[edit]

Does anyone know where I might be able to find out what the pay and benefits are for their employees? How do they compare with the union grocery chains? Should this be on the main page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oldtimeadventures (talkcontribs) 17:31, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Store Count

[edit]

Where are we getting the information for stores in the US? We have a number in the 90s and a number at 76 later in the article but no sources on those numbers... does anyone know? Mark99 maybe, seeing as how he's the one who made the change at the top? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.208.210.98 (talk) 22:30, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was on the fresh and easy website! http://freshandeasy.com/pdfs/Fresh%20%20Easy%2010%20Millionth%20Product.pdf it states 'Fresh & Easy currently has 94 stores open in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada and will open its 95th store tomorrow in Oak Park, CA.' Requesting updates on key areas of fresh&easy's business

[edit]

Hi! I'm Nicole, I'm the social media manager at Fresh & Easy. I wanted to start a talk section to gather consensus about changes to be made to the wiki on Fresh & Easy.

There are a few primary sections which we would like to note and think are important regarding our company. Those are:
1) fresh&easy brand products, of which this wiki mentions none. It seems common to reference store brand products in the wiki for a grocery chain.
2) Jobs or hiring information on Fresh & Easy which is quite out of date as the last edits to the Fresh & Easy wiki were made in early 2010, it appears.
3) Environmental & community service which is a key area of interest for Fresh & Easy and is a key portion of Fresh & Easy's marketing plan and has garnered significant press interest. It seems to be a section that would hold value on the wiki.
4) New announcement of smaller format store, "Fresh & Easy Express"
5) Fresh & Easy's new loyalty card program
6) The addition of in-store bakeries, which began integration in July 2011

I'd like to present a few resources on these topics to serve as 3rd party information that may be used to gather data for addition to the wiki:
1) a recent series of articles by the [1], a British publication - these cover nearly all areas listed above:
"Tesco putting focus on refreshing US chain" - http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/720ded26-b21e-11e0-9d80-00144feabdc0.html
"Tesco to trial loyalty card at US location" - http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/c04ea386-af0d-11e0-bb89-00144feabdc0.html
"Shoppers picks show Tesco's US dilemma" - http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/0/358ed272-b163-11e0-9444-00144feab49a.html#axzz1UatiT75p
"Tesco to trial 'Fresh & Easy Express'" - http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/0/c2834256-bdd6-11e0-babc-00144feabdc0.html#axzz1UatiT75p

2) Coverage by the [2]'s Nancy Luna (FastFood Maven) also on a number of topics
"Big changes coming to Fresh & Easy" - http://articles.ocregister.com/2011-08-01/news/29847860_1_fresh-easy-s-easy-neighborhood-market-brendan-wonnacott

3) Loyalty card coverage
"Fresh & Easy plans loyalty test" - http://supermarketnews.com/retail_financial/fresh_easy_loyalty_0725/

4) Environmental commitments
"Fresh & Easy adds Ryder natural gas vehicles to fleet" - http://www.environmentalleader.com/2011/08/05/fresh-easy-adds-ryder-natural-gas-vehicles-to-fleet/
"Fresh & Easy uses 32% less energy than Supermarket Average" - http://www.environmentalleader.com/2009/12/01/fresh-easy-uses-32-less-energy-than-supermarket-average/
"Fresh & Easy to lease 25 Ryder CNG vehicles" - http://refrigeratedtrans.com/food-distributors/supermarkets/fresh_and_easy_to_lease_25_ryder_cng_vehicles_0805/

Rumors

[edit]

Wikipedia is not a suitable forum for rumor mongering and Wikipedia is not news. If there are notable and enduring developments we can add them but just reprinting rumors is not generally how things are done here. Reverting. Intermittentgardener (talk) 16:10, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The only 'rumor' mentioned in the article is the potential closing of the stores, which has since proved true. The other sources cited in the removed sentences are based on company sources and publicly available information, and as such are not rumors but facts. On the date changes, this is a store that is/was operating in the United States, and as such, US date format is appropriate.Dialectric (talk) 17:19, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Units of measurement

[edit]

I realize that Fresh & Easy was a subsidiary of Tesco (based in Great Britain), but why the use of metric measurements and pounds throughout this article? F&E is located in the U.S., and the vast majority of people who are interested in this topic will be in the U.S. as well. In some cases, the source material referenced (particularly for financial information) is British, but others are not; all the references to "USD" for money are jarring.
