I got a 76-page PDF ending at the end of a page but in mid-sentence by following the lk to the novel; is this my system's fault or is the lk to a fragment rather than the novel? Lk's text should be changed if so.

sorry the link is from a japanese college who use it in the english course. i presumed that the pdf was the full book. if it is of interest i can scan a copy of the book and send it in DOC format (its no longer in copyright). Mike33 03:51, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
_ _ Thanks for such quick attention. How about just relabeling it as a fragment, noting roughly the fraction present? (My interest was in her name (Mrs. G... on the work) & notability (probable, IMO) since she's on LoPbN; i'll pass for the foreseeable future on the novel.)
_ _ BTW, i suppose she's known almost exclusively by this name (tho perhaps including the period would be clearer & preferable)? Nevertheless, i'm pretty sure there should be a Rdr, which i've just created, at Isabella Banks: surely the (anachronistic) idea that she should be known by her personal name has been promoted, and should be accommodated at least to that extent. (If it is decided that IB rather than GLB should be the article title, i think it'll take an admin to effect that since the Rdr was not created by a move; i'll be glad to effect that, since i'd need even less explanation of why than most.)

Naming conventions

[edit]

All of her published work was done under Mrs G Linnaeus Banks although she seems to be known as Isabella Varley Banks see Northern Quarter. She is notable a quick google will give you lots of books it that name. I suppose it was a very British Victorian idea to take your husband's name exclusively than your Christened name Mike33 04:30, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

She would never have been known simply as 'G Linnaeus Banks' (without the Mrs):surely this page, if it's not to be 'Isabella Banks', needs to be 'Mrs G. Linnaeus Banks'. Dsp13 (talk) 19:53, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
'Isabella Varley Banks' is anachronistic and reminiscent of the modern US custom for married women. 'George Linnaeus' were her husband's forenames.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 12:52, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
