The result of the move request was: Not moved. No consensus, and the book hits seem to indicate a preference for the current name. — Amakuru (talk) 21:31, 25 April 2016 (UTC)
Gau Baden → Gau Baden-Elsaß – Renamed, the former name more historical than the more recent one. Chicbyaccident (talk) 13:59, 25 March 2016 (UTC)
- You are right in principle but please see the discussion on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Germany#Nazi Gaue after which User:Bermicourt moved the articles in question to their English language name. The implication for this article would be that it should be moved to Gau Baden-Alsace, not Gau Baden-Elsaß to comply with WP:TRANSLITERATE. Calistemon (talk) 22:50, 25 March 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose special characters for Alsace when we have an English spelling for Alsace per Calistemon; also this no longer exists, but spent more time under the current name than the proposed name according to the article. -- 70.51.46.39 (talk) 06:13, 26 March 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose, but I would support a move to Gau Baden-Alsace since the current convention is to use English names for these entities. --Bermicourt (talk) 08:34, 26 March 2016 (UTC)
Updated proposal: Gau Baden-Alsace
[edit]Fair enough. Changed proposal: Gau Baden-Alsace. Chicbyaccident (talk) 11:41, 26 March 2016 (UTC)
- Support, move to Gau Baden-Alsace as this was the Gau's transliterated name for the last four years of its existence according to this source. Calistemon (talk) 23:22, 26 March 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. Gau Baden is more common on Google Books. It receives 3500 hits compared to only 23 for "Gau Baden-Alsace" (and 278 for "Gau Baden-Elsass", the more usual rendering).--Cúchullain t/c 14:29, 5 April 2016 (UTC)
- Two points: First, a Gau with a similar history, Gau Westmark, had four different names and the article title is its final name. Second, this Gau was called Gau Baden twice as long as it was called Gau Baden-Alsace. — AjaxSmack 02:13, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose per Cuchullain --CookieMonster755 (talk) 03:30, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
