Place of birth?

[edit]

Giraldo was born in The Bronx and was raised in Queens. Born December 10, 1965(1965-12-10) Belgrade, Serbia

I don't get it. Was he born in the Bronx, or was he born in Serbia? He looks Serbian but sounds like a New Yorker, so I could believe either. 24.126.215.124 (talk) 04:33, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That would be what's called 'vandalism'. Fixed it! DP76764 (Talk) 04:46, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Death

[edit]

Accidental

[edit]

He could have accidentaly overdosed a prescription drug by not takeing them correctly such as the prescribed dose and the time to take the drug. It is not really exactly obvious. He had this prescription for a reason, not necessarily suicide. People are very quick to jump on the conclucion of suicide when they do not know all the facts. 1731

Is there a source for how he "accidentally" overdosed? How does one accidentally swallow a handful of pills? There should be a source proving it was an accident, because otherwise it's an obvious suicide. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.22.112.110 (talk) 11:55, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

From my experience with pain pills you progressively need to take more as you build up a tolerance. You never think too many pain pills will kill you. Considering the benefit he was scheduled to perform at that day, he could have been under alot of stress. Mikeblake00 (talk) 20:19, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nick DiPaolo and Jim Norton posted this on their Twitter accounts. Of course, reliable sources needed.

(LowSelfEstidle (talk) 21:19, 29 September 2010 (UTC))[reply]

MSNBC has it as accidental: http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/39427081/ns/today-entertainment Wowlookitsjoe (talk) 13:35, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's not an obvious suicide, giraldo was looking to get high on painkillers and made a mistake. 64.53.204.156 (talk) 14:37, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You dont get high on painkillers... You trip. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.107.179.108 (talk) 23:55, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What's the diff? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Captain Quirk (talkcontribs) 09:44, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The difference between the two is I've NEVER heard of getting high on painkillers referred to as "tripping" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.218.250.237 (talk) 07:46, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To maybe give context to an older comment (and without really feeling like citing material; it's out there if you want to look), addictions to painkillers are nothing about "getting high" and much more about what I'll refer to as "not getting low." For instance military members addicted to painkillers are not addicted because it's "awesome", but because it reduces sensation (physically and mentally) below the current baseline (whatever that may be). It is a chemical addiction, and the lack of whatever pharmaceutical produces a result that I will way-over-simplify to being akin to a "normal" person having their body immersed in a vat of ants (insert your own species).
While this is probably getting into a grey area, when dealing with biographies of people living and dead I feel that it is only responsible to take things into consideration. Human.v2.0 (talk) 02:19, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Date

[edit]

The date he was probably brain dead was 9/25. He was probably unplugged by the family decision on 9/29. So the probable confusion in the dates. 1731 In the Death section of the article, it says September 25th. Shouldn't it say the 29th? 206.170.102.200 (talk) 21:49, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, the OD happened on the 25th. --Muboshgu (talk) 21:52, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it should. Mikeblake00 (talk) 20:12, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, wow, that must have been some OD to die 4 days later...my bad 206.170.102.200 (talk) 21:54, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PayPal at the End of the Article

[edit]

I don't feel it's necessary to add the paypal URL on wikipedia. You never know if it's a scam. If you want to donate, you should visit the official website for the charity. Grantjj (talk) 01:36, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. Links like that should not be included. I have removed it. DP76764 (Talk) 01:51, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Was he Jewish?

[edit]

Can anyone verify? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.159.111.98 (talk) 10:20, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think he was Catholic. In the first episode of Lewis Black's Root of All Evil he mentions being a "product of 10 years of Chaotic school". but I'm not 100% sure. Grapesoda22 (talk) 03:20, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am certain Greg mentioned being Catholic & Catholic school on Tough Crowd, as well- he and Colin talked about Catholicism on multiple occasions, but I cannot tell you the specific episodes. TheMetalChick (talk) 16:22, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Greg states that he was raised Catholic on Good Day to Cross a River Track 2, 01:06 but said that "he's not into it anymore." --Hans (talk) 20:56, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removed tags

[edit]

I removed the needs citation tag and the POV tag. The article is generally well cited. Any particular sentence can be tagged with citation needed if necessary. The POV tag was placed in a section and no discussion was even started about the neutrality of the article. I think the article's POV is neutral. --Mnnlaxer (talk) 19:42, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have a question out of curiosity?

[edit]

Is it a pretty powerful feeling when you have to edit an individuals wikipedia page from "So-and-so is a..." to "So-and-so was a..." after they die? Just curious how it feels to make a permanent edit like that regarding someones death. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:E:1180:E1:6D5C:54F7:A206:EC9E (talk) 23:00, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
