Talk about a biased article--whoever wrote this absolutely REFUSES to acknowledge that Garcia ever played poorly. It's clearly written by a Garcia fanboy (probably the same person who insists that Tim Rattay replacing him contributed to the 49ers' 2-14 record in 2004 when he was one of the few bright spots on that team). This is just absurd--this page needs to be edited for neutrality BIG TIME. I've made some changes...among them:
- Garcia "led" the 49ers to the playoffs--not really, the 49ers really went to the playoffs in spite of Garcia. His 5 yard dump off passes that Terrell Owens took 75 yards didn't LEAD the 49ers anywhere.
- Owens said Garcia's ARM STRENGTH held him back? Nope. Why is the author allowed to make things up...meanwhile, anyone who DARES correct this person has their content removed when the page is reverted? Owens did take shots at Garcia after he left...but never said anything about his arm strength. It's also worth noting that both Fred Beasley and Brandon Lloyd knocked Garcia for his HAPPY FEET after he'd left...yet the author clearly wants people to think it was just Owens who had a problem with Garcia. Among Owens's gripes were that every receiver was forced to break off his route early because Garcia never set his feet...and that if the team was inside their own 20, he wasn't even going to try to move the ball.
- Again with the "led" thing...this time with the Eagles. The quarterback doesn't always LEAD a team...for example, Trent Dilfer didn't lead the Ravens to the 2000 Super Bowl. Their defense did. Crediting Garcia for their turnaround is just ignorant--they started running the ball a lot more and Brian Westbrook and the balanced offensive attack was more effective than the one the Eagles ran when McNabb was healthy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.124.62.200 (talk) 06:13, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
