Notability

I can't believe someone has seriously questioned if this person is sufficiently notable for Wikipedia. He's not, I'll grant you, a CGI science-fiction character, which seems to guarantee you a huge Wikipedia entry, but he is clearly a notable figure.

If I had the time and Wikability to edit this entry, I would. Suffice to say that, for both evidence of notability as well as external references, you should start with his biog on the BBC Trust website:
