From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi! I’m new here. I was looking for information on Kali Fajardo-Anstine and was shocked to see that that the Wiki article on her was flagged for not being “notable” enough. Besides the fact that Fajardo-Anstine has won and been nominated for the most prestigious literary awards in the US—-one of the subject-specific requirements for book notability (though there isn’t even a Wikipedia article on her book)—there are pages and pages and pages of google news results articles about her, in a huge range of independent, reliable media. And even if it was determined that the article itself didn’t cite enough of them, that doesn’t seem to be required by the notability guidelines: “Notability is based on the existence of suitable sources, not on the state of sourcing in an article.”

Again, I’m new here— haven’t contributed to Wikipedia before, will probably never post again after this. But for Wikipedia to question the notability of such an objectively notable Latina writer makes me question Wikipedia’s reliability. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:644:C180:100:BD13:26E8:7715:8B34 (talk) 08:53, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback from New Page Review process

[edit]

I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: The notability of this subject is very borderline; the article needs additional citations to significant, independent coverage of Fajardo-Anstine or her work..

Twitter

She was an active Twitter user, but seems to have suddenly deleted her account. What happened? (Never mind: It was resurrected.) WindSandAndStars (talk) 00:12, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Revisions

[edit]

Hello, I spent a lot of time researching this author and I am unclear on why my revisions keep getting deleted. Can @76.155.211.119 or @jimjonwa you explain your process? Thanks! JaneClawsten (talk) 22:52, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The citation links to a website that does not include mention of ADHD and stated an editorial correction “Editor's Note: This article has been updated to reflect that the author has not been medically diagnosed with ADHD.” Winningfish187 (talk) 00:53, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @winningfish187 that is helpful! JaneClawsten (talk) 18:28, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
