Should there not be footnotes through out the article as to where which parts of the information have come from?

Especially stuff like:"He used local girls as concubines and when he discovered that his lover Jagodja had an affair with his man-servant, he had both of them hanged and their home villages destroyed...." sounds a bit dubious. Are there any other sources for this then Marxist pamphletes? --41.18.177.44 (talk) 21:03, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean by "Marxist pamphletes"? I don't see any. Peter's case is well documented and correctly described in this article. The episode concerning his African concubines is shortened but it wouzld take quite some space to give a full picture. --Kipala (talk) 13:11, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The German Marxist press of the time vilified Peters constantly, the question remains, what reliable sources are there. --41.150.224.181 (talk) 09:14, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Alleged Hannah Ahrend quotes

[edit]

The alleged Hannah Ahrend quotes don't make any sense. --41.151.36.95 (talk) 20:42, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: moved per request. Uncontested for two weeks, and as far as I can make out, "Carl" is indeed the spelling favored by modern sources, both English and German. Favonian (talk) 09:52, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Karl PetersCarl Peters – It is the more common form and the one the German Wiki uses. Both are correct, but I believe that Carl is the more common. Relisted. Favonian (talk) 09:47, 8 July 2012 (UTC). Srnec (talk) 21:49, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
