There are surprisingly many decent references here to work from, a lot of them having "line of sight" in the title of a paragraph. I might work on this article when I have the time, but here's some references for people to work with. We really don't need such a tacked on examples section to explain what line of sight is, how it is used, and what people think of the common mechanic. I didn't even think the article had any encyclopedic value next to fog of war, but I guess I was wrong. ~Maplestrip (chat) 14:13, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
Outside wargames/rpgs?
[edit]Article on stealth video games links here, so I think this article probably could be expanded to incorporate concept of line of sight as used by AI in videogames - especially since sometimes those overlap, since e.g. X-Com series is a series of strategy games that determines what both players can see through fog of war by combining data from field of view of all soldiers of said side, and the same time, the same data of line of sight is used to determine if a soldier can shoot at the target, similarly to how wargames and RPGs use the concept. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shinobody (talk • contribs) 09:32, 6 March 2016 (UTC)
- I agree that that would be a good idea, as line-of-sight is a common mechanic in stealth games (possibly even a defining one). If you can find sources discussing it, go ahead :) ~Mable (chat) 09:34, 6 March 2016 (UTC)
