Summarys

[edit]

I am thinking we should take the descriptions straight from the official website for future episode descriptions

Actually, none of the descriptions should come from the official site because that's a copyright violation. They all need to be rewritten. -NatureBoyMD (talk) 18:16, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think what he meant was descriptions of the episode vs summaries of the episode. The official ones aren't likely to contain spoilers whereas a summary will pretty much recap the entire episode. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Xero910 (talkcontribs) 02:22, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In the section Synopsis, the sentence: "The trail boss carries a considerable sum of cash for all necessities and all possible emergencies" implies a subtle detail which writer Winston Miller elaborates upon in Incident of the Calico Gun (season 1 episode 15, appx 39 mins in). The trail boss may carry a "considerable sum" for a period of time, however he probably has the foresight to wire ahead to various town banks to keep from having that "considerable sum" become a target for thieves. 24.49.32.233 (talk) 21:40, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Individual episodes

[edit]

I have redirected all episode articles here because they did not establish WP:NOTABILITY and consisted of 100% plot (WP:NOT#PLOT). If someone wants to write an encyclopedic article on one of the episodes (which includes production and reception), article recreation is certainly possible, but please don't restore the articles for any other reasons. – sgeureka tc 18:10, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should restore the old episode summaries. Now that Breaking Bad is taking off, there are numerous articles and reviews the very next day, which could fill the reception segment. Although the 100% plot was a problem, that is now clogging the main Breaking Bad page, which should be in a page dedicated to an episode (where it can be easily edited). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.20.11.116 (talk) 18:23, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for taking the individual episodes down. I thought I'd read some Wikipedia, but now I don't have to. You deletionists have done a great job in transforming WP from a useful resource that was also something of a joke into... something of a joke. 184.60.24.115 (talk) 10:43, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The individual summaries are on the season pages, per the style guide for TV pages. This list is just a list. Darrenhusted (talk) 23:14, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Minisodes

[edit]

The minisodes should be included here. Jmj713 (talk) 21:09, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. The titles are 1- Good Cop Bad Cop, 2- Wedding Day, 3- Twaught Hammer, 4- Marie's Confession, 5- The Break-In — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.181.169.205 (talk) 09:39, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Somebody should add the season 2 and 3 minisodes https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2387761/episodes?season=2 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:6C40:4A00:2AFB:50BA:E341:7062:AF98 (talk) 07:30, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I did. Flowerkiller1692 (talk) 00:35, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalization of Title

[edit]

The capitalization of the title of this article is incorrect as compared to other TV shows. This article should be moved with redirect to List_of_Breaking_Bad_Episodes. --67.165.176.19 (talk) 04:57, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No it shouldn't, it's capitalized correctly. Xeworlebi (talk) 07:36, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Xeworlebi's comment back in 2010; episodes (with a small 'e') was correct. But ...
I don't know precisely how redirect synonyms for page suggestions work in Wikipedia's Search Box, but it annoys me that this and only this page have Breaking bad episodes (big 'B; then small 'b') in the suggestions if you search for and type as far as "breaking bad" (all lower-case lazy typing). Strangely, before I type that final 'd', i.e. searching for "breaking ba", the capitalization of this page is correct (Breaking Bad episodes). Can this be fixed? Is there a priority order to synonymous redirect names? Or should I move this comment to Unsolved problems in philosophy? ChrisJBenson (talk) 18:36, 12 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Season 3 DVD/Blu-Ray

[edit]

Unsure how to make the change myself, but DVD/Blu-Ray release for Season 3 has been announced as June 7th 2011 in Region 1. Series overview

[edit]

Why in the overview section is it listed as " 5 (Pt.1) " and " 5 (Pt. 2) " instead of Season 5 with 16 listed in the episode number section..? I mean I understand why, because of the split, but it's the same season. Splitting it up is AMC's decision... Let Me Eat Cake (talk) 17:54, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It probably could go both ways. More than likely it's formatted like that, since it's "officially" being split into two parts, to follow suit with other shows that have seasons officially split in two parts, such as The Sopranos season six and Entourage season three. Drovethrughosts (talk) 00:10, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I always assumed it was done this way because of the DVD releases. Both of the examples, The Sopranos and Entourage, had their split-seasons released in two separate volumes, which will probably be the case here as well since they are airing both parts a whole year apart, as opposed to The Walking Dead, which split its second season in half but only had a hiatus of two or three months and then had a single DVD/BR release. But as DTG said, both ways are probably fine for now. SchrutedIt08 (talk) 00:32, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Edited the section so all the episodes are listed under season 5 while still showing that the season is split in half. Mromson (talk) 12:41, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

series overview

[edit]

Hey. I updated the series overview season 5 column. It helps sort information out better. If you disagree, feel free to change it back. Also, I cannot get the three season 5 links to go to their section. And also I don't know how to get the thin green color bar on the left hand side to not have a line in the middle, but to span the whole row. Thanks.

Season 5 DVD release

[edit]

According to this source [1], season five of Breaking Bad will not be released in two separate volumes as has been speculated, but all 16 episodes will be released together, presumably sometime in late 2013. So unlike Entourage or The Sopranos, it could just be considered to be an extended season aired over two years, similar to the second season of The Walking Dead. I think we should probably wait until more information is available before making any big changes, but based on this I'd like to remove 5 Pt. 2 from the series overview some time in the future and not divide the episode table itself with a different colour scheme like Futurama. SchrutedIt08 (talk) 23:35, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Award cutoffs?

[edit]

Is there a source for which episodes are considered for which awards? This might be useful info to collect. I found myself wondering, for example, whether "Say My Name" was after the cutoff for tonight's Emmys, given that it wasn't mentioned, despite critical acclaim. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 23:55, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For the most recent Emmys (September 2012) it was Season 4 of Breaking Bad which was under consideration. "Say My Name" was Season 5 and will be eligible next year. --SubSeven (talk) 23:56, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why

[edit]

Why does every episode of Breaking Bad from Season 3 up get its own page? Only those episodes that have an out-of-universe context may get their own page.--Valkyrie Red (talk) 22:56, 16 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think the ending of season 3 is simply the point where enough editors became interested in the show that they started creating articles for the latest episode. Someone will probably go back and create articles for the earlier episodes at some point – this series is more than notable enough to be catalogued extensively. —Flax5 00:02, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This series is, yet Batman: the Animated Series wasn't?--Valkyrie Red (talk) 19:37, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Those episodes have articles because somebody decided to create those articles. That's it. There is no central authority dictating which television episodes have articles. Generally, any television episode which is discussed extensively by independent sources can have an article. --SubSeven (talk) 19:56, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Such hypocrisy on this site. Nearly all the BTAS episode pages were deleted because there was a central authority dictating which television episodes have articles. Disgusting that shows like Family Guy and this can hold a higher value than BTAS.--Valkyrie Red (talk) 23:00, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
My guess is that there were little, or no, coverage of those individual episodes in published reliable sources. Like I said. Do you have information to the contrary? --SubSeven (talk) 00:29, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Are you talking about reviews?--Valkyrie Red (talk) 01:27, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's one possibility, yes - reviews from legitimate sources (not blogs, forums, etc). --SubSeven (talk) 16:40, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've got TV.com and The AV Club.--Valkyrie Red (talk) 23:16, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Reviews are helpful, but they're not everything. A good television episode article should contain a plot synopsis, information (where available) on the writing, casting, filming and post-production of the episode, the broadcast, and the critical response, and all of it should be sourced to reliable third-party publications (except the plot synopsis, which can be taken straight from the episode itself). An excellent example would be the Doctor Who episode The Stolen Earth. If you can't find reliable sources with a reasonable amount of information about the episode, your article is likely to get deleted. —Flax5 23:31, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Both sources I listed do just that.--Valkyrie Red (talk) 18:55, 28 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Articles

[edit]

I have begun adding articles to the episodes between "A No Rough Stuff..." and "Fly".--MainlyTwelve (talk) 19:17, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

They still need a lot of work, to be honest. The plot is just copied and pasted from the season articles; the production section just repeats who the writer and director were; and the reception section is pretty minimal. Drovethrughosts (talk) 19:23, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. I am only getting them started as of now. I plan on going back and adding more when there is an article for every episode in the second season.--MainlyTwelve (talk) 20:15, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

More Minisodes

[edit]

There are actually 11 minisodes, this page only lists five. Walterego (talk) 07:19, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, there are even more than that, but this is what I came to the talk page to point out, too. The minisodes section is very incomplete. Alphius (talk) 20:22, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest if you believe there's more minisodes to add to the list, then you can add it yourself. Drovethrughosts (talk) 21:20, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The second season DVD set explicitly says on it that it comes with six, so that alone makes it clear that there are more than five, but I don't actually have the DVD set to check what the sixth one is. This YouTube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLB586C38D0955C980 seems to have everything that I personally know of, but it isn't an official compilation of them and I'm not sure where to find a better source (and for all I know, there could even be more). The "Team S.C.I.E.N.C.E." one is up here: http://www.amc.com/shows/breaking-bad/video-extras/season-03/episode-01/team-s-c-i-e-n-c-e-breaking-bad-animated-webisode and on the Season 3 DVD set, but I'm not sure of the date when it was released or where that date falls in relation to all the "Better Call Saul" webisodes that were also released. So basically, it seems pretty clear that the section is incomplete, but I'm not sure how to go about fixing that and was hoping someone else might know more than me. Alphius (talk) 22:29, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, right after posting that comment, I ended up finding this: http://www.dvdizzy.com/breakingbad-season2.html which says that the sixth one on the second season DVD set is a music video titled "Fallacies," but I still don't know what its release date was or the release dates for any of the other missing stuff. Articles for some Season 3 episodes?

[edit]

I noticed some episodes of Season 3, such as One Minute, have no articles. Is there any objection to me creating an article for at least "One Minute?" As in, has this already been discussed in the past? Hummerrocket (talk) 16:35, 25 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
