About the "Method"-sections for Ohio's scheduled executions

[edit]

At the time of this writing, all of Ohio's executions listed within this article lists their "Method"-sections as "Lethal injection". However, according to one of the sources within this article (at the time of this writing) ([1]), lethal injection is no longer an option for Ohio executions. Should the "Method"-sections for Ohio's scheduled executions within this article be changed to reflect that lethal injection is no longer an option for them? Maybe something along the lines of "Unknown" or "N/A"? Heart of Destruction (talk) 15:52, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Heart of Destruction: Fair point, I will change this in the article and for List of people scheduled to be executed in the United States. Inexpiable (talk) 19:12, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

About Oscar Franklin Smith

[edit]

At the time of this writing, Oscar Franklin Smith is listed within this article's "List of people scheduled to be executed in the United States in 2021"-section. However, at the time of this writing, the "Upcoming executions"-source ([2]) lists Oscar Franklin Smith's February 4, 2021 execution date as "STAYED". So shouldn't he be removed from this article's "List of people scheduled to be executed in the United States in 2021"-section? I am not sure what the "Age of person"-averages would be (This is why I am bringing this up on the talk page instead of editing the article myself). Shifting Demographics section

[edit]

The Demographics section is below the List of people scheduled to be executed in the United States in 2021 section when it pertains to those already executed; would it be appropriate to shift this section up to make this less confusing? Or even make Demographics a sub-section of List of people executed in the United States in 2021? Engineerchange (talk) 08:50, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Engineerchange: I know it's nearly a year late in you getting a response to this but you are right. I think for the 2022 page it would be better to just have the scheduled execution heading beneath the execution list with just a link to the scheduled execution page. That would prevent any confusion. In addition, I have always found it rather silly to essentially have to keep updating two pages for the scheduled executions. These pages from now on should only list the people executed and no scheduled executions. In other words, beneath the executed list it would just read as this:

List of people scheduled to be executed in the United States in 2022

And nothing more. Inexpiable (talk) 19:50, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

About Timothy L. Hoffner, John David Stumpf and Lawrence Alfred Landrum

[edit]

At the time of this writing, Timothy L. Hoffner, John David Stumpf and Lawrence Alfred Landrum are listed within this article's "List of people scheduled to be executed in the United States in 2021"-section. However, at the time of this writing, the "Upcoming executions"-source ([3]) lists Timothy L. Hoffner's August 11, 2021 execution date, John David Stumpf's September 15, 2021 execution date and Lawrence Alfred Landrum's December 9, 2021 execution date as "REPRIEVED" and lists a June 18, 2024 execution date for Timothy L. Hoffner, a August 13, 2024 execution date for John David Stumpf and a October 15, 2024 execution date for Lawrence Alfred Landrum. So shouldn't they be removed from this article's "List of people scheduled to be executed in the United States in 2021"-section? I am not sure what the "Age of person"-averages would be (This is why I am bringing this up on the talk page instead of editing the article myself). Heart of Destruction, Done, please check if I made any mistakes. Thank you. Inexpiable (talk) 09:46, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Should this be added to the list?

[edit]

I have found a source that claims that a October 5, 2021 execution date has been set for Ernest Lee Johnson (Link). Should this be added to the list? Heart of Destruction (talk) 21:13, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

About Oklahoma's scheduled executions

[edit]

At the time of this writing, this article lists five executions scheduled in Oklahoma (John Marion Grant on October 7, 2021, Julius Darius Jones on October 28, 2021, Bigler Jobe Stouffer II on November 18, 2021, Wade Greely Lay on December 9, 2021 and Donald Anthony Grant on December 30, 2021). However, I have found a source that claims that the Oklahoma attorney general's office has pushed back its timetable for resuming executions, with the attorney general asking that John Marion Grant's execution date be set for October 28 or November 18 and that dates be set for six other executions at three-week intervals. Should John Marion Grant's execution date within this article be changed to something like "October 28, 2021/November 18, 2021" or something like that with the other Oklahoma executions being listed with three-week intervals? Heart of Destruction (talk) 10:50, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not until the dates are officially set because we would just be guessing what dates they're going to use. Inexpiable (talk) 16:51, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And now all the Oklahoma executions have been taken off the wiki schedule with no explanation in the canceled executions area. *goes and investigates*YellowAries2010 (talk) 04:15, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've re-done the whole thing because the person who did it (unsurprisingly) didn't do it properly, and didn't even bother to change the statistics in the opening. The Oklahoma info is now in the opening and if the executions don't go ahead I'll add it to the canceled section. Unfortunately a lot of users just edit this page without sourcing anything or adding relevant info to the canceled executions section *sigh*. Inexpiable (talk) 08:40, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There needs to be a lot of changes

[edit]

I've looked at several other articles such as List of people executed by the United States federal government, and List of people executed in Mississippi, and realized that those two lists have something in common. They both have information that is not on this list. They have the name of the victims, and the details of the crimes they committed. This should be added to the list. It shouldn't be that hard to put on the list, judging by the fact that there probably won't be more than 11 executions this year and it's actually useful information. I mean come on, you LITERALLY have the races of the killers and the age difference between crime and execution, why not also write down the victims and the crime, because that's REALLY important for a list like this. 2601:202:202:E8A0:0:0:0:3A56 (talk) 00:59, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You have a point, but it really isn't that important or necessary to add them to these lists. You could argue further info could then be added like details of the crime, age of each victim, etc. It really isn't needed. Plus it would take a lot of effort, because if you're going to do it for this page you would need to do it for every single one of these lists, which currently date back to 2007. You can't just do this page and leave the other ones, it needs to be all or nothing. Inexpiable (talk) 08:39, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
