Robert Hutchison MBE 1944[edit]

Please see Talk:Robert Hutchison, 1st Baron Hutchison of Montrose#MBE revoked? for confusion on this. Timrollpickering (talk) 15:32, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's not the same person. I've "corrected" the link. Craigy (talk) 19:06, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ordering for Order of the Bath[edit]

Note that KB is the postnominal for pre-1815 Knights Companion. The current structure of GCB, KCB and CB was only introduced in 1815. During the chagne over, the then living KBs became GCBs, so it makes sense to list KBs above GCB. David Underdown (talk) 16:14, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Knights Bachelor[edit]

I realise that these people do not strictly fall within "appointments to orders and awarded decorations and medals". However, if we're after a comprehensive list of all knighthoods (etc) that have been awarded and then taken away, I know of at least two knights bachelor whose knighthoods were revoked: Terry Lewis (police officer) and Roger Casement (he also lost his CMG). -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 22:12, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to have been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal in 1915.[1] Can't find any record of forfeiture. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:31, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Privy Council[edit]

The section for the Privy Council states it is for the "Privy Council of the United Kingdom", but that was not formed until 1801. However, the list includes Sir Thomas Chicheley and John Aislabie, both of whom date from before this period. Chicheley would have been removed from the Privy Council of England and Aislabie from the Privy Council of Great Britain. Yet the list does not include others stripped of membership of these bodies. For example George Savile, 1st Marquess of Halifax was struck off the roll of the English privy council in 1692 for offending Mary II by providing bail for Lord Marlborough and Thomas Parker, 1st Earl of Macclesfield was struck off the roll of the Privy Council in 1725 after his conviction for corruption. Thus should the list restrict itself to Privy Counsellors removed from the list after 1801? Dunarc (talk) 19:31, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
