This article has a lot of problems, and I don't recommend that it gets to main page. Examples, from a scan of the first few paragraphs lists 50 countries individually, each one cited, and the article uses phrases like "with filming taking place in 18 countries across Earth's seven continents". Ceoil (talk) 11:06, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ceoil, As I stated, I am trying to fix the sentence by making a shorter version. The latter problem you brought up doesn't seem like a problem to me at all. You using pejoratives don't help the improving process at all. GeraldWL 11:16, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I only skimmed the opening paras, and found endemic problems, which could be summed up as: excitable language, heroic padding. If you want to create a 94kb article on a trainspotter dioc, fine, but it ain't going on main page; who the hell is going to wade through and verify all that? Ceoil (talk) 11:20, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ceoil, I fail to see how it is excitable language in any way. It's literally stating the film was filmed across all seven continents. Nothing POV about that, no nothing. But what confused me most is your use of inappropriate words, something I never do. It doesn't matter if the article is long, and I know plenty of editors who have no problem with long articles. GeraldWL 11:24, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No doubt. Anyway, my objection stands. Ceoil (talk) 11:26, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ceoil, you not wanting to discuss this civilly only makes me more confused. To update, I have shortened the countries list, but if it's still not to your liking, well, idk what else I can do to serve you. GeraldWL 11:34, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    On a lighter note, it's not a trainspotter doc, it's not a planespotter doc. It's a doc about airplanes. GeraldWL 13:43, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: The first hook is OK (though I'd use https://news.stlpublicradio.org/show/st-louis-on-the-air/2016-03-21/the-first-giant-screen-film-to-span-seven-continents-encapsulates-the-incredible-power-of-flight as the backing source), but ALT1 seems even more interesting. I can sort of understand Ceoil's comments, such as this maybe being a bit indepth for a 45 minute film; but it's not blatant puffery, and it is well sourced. Also "18 countries across all seven continents" is a quote from https://static1.squarespace.com/static/54d30b13e4b04ea9b330eeff/t/57a2658d5016e15de7c65d6e/1470260636969/AIRPLANES+Press+Notes.pdf; but it's only 6 words. As this isn't a FA review, just DYK, I think Ceoil is being a bit strict. GRuban (talk) 16:39, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, maybe thats probably right about strict. Ceoil (talk) 18:45, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox, lead, summary

[edit]
  • Template:Infobox film recommends using "{{plainlist}} or {{ubl}}" instead of <br /> in the infobox.
  • Is the note "Stylized in all caps" important/necessary? It appears the title just uses a font that looks like ALL CAPS.
  • "from April 8" – two options → "from April 8 [to] [date]" or "on April 8"
  • "some felt it lacks" → "some felt it lacked"
  • "The film won several awards" – you can just say three and that two were for the score.
  • "observes ancient humans walked" – word missing?
  • Airplanes... "it could fly" ... "it can also" → "they could fly" ... "they can also"
  • "crucial to connect the world" → "crucial to connecting the world"
  • Add an "a" before "bridge between cultures".
All  Done, the footnote's removed. GeraldWL 14:57, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Production, themes, release, reception

[edit]
  • "There were four skeleton crew." → "There were four skeleton crews."
  • "Terwilliger stated Waruszewski" → "Terwilliger stated that Waruszewski" or "Terwilliger said Waruszewski"
  • "At certain scenes" → "In certain scenes"
  • "were used used because IMAX" – double word
  • "reminiscent to" → "reminiscent of"
  • "Hornerl" – name typo in #Post-production
  • "going on in out world" – might want to silently correct that typo for "our"
  • "Terwiliger" and "prised the premiere" – typos
  • "categorized a" → "categorized as a"
  • ""accusing" travelers for" → ""accusing" travelers of"
  • Add a comma after "Ronnie Scheib of Variety said".
  • "The film's aesthetics was" → "The film's aesthetics were"
Done for all points, some resolved with alternative ways. GeraldWL 06:24, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
