Where the article reads: 'Thorpe and her 41-year-old boyfriend Paul Clarke' - the girl was 15 years old at the time, is it appropriate to refer to a man almost three times her age, in a relationship with a child where he was guilty of grooming/rape as she was too young to consent, as a 'boyfriend'? 167.98.26.243 (talk) 14:23, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Mary Bell was convicted of manslaughter, which makes her a killer, but not technically a "murderer." Anyway almost every published source describes Thorpe as the youngest female double murderer. Matuko (talk) 03:49, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
"Abuser" presumes to much based only on the age difference, and even strictly semantically it does not convey the nature of their relationship (an "abuser" need not be intimately involved with his or her victim).
"Lover" is more neutral. The ages are clearly given in the article so labelling the relationship as "abuse" conveys nothing but the writers interpretation. 50.159.87.96 (talk) 00:09, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
