Fifth or sixth at four golds ?

BBC had fifth, but https://www.marca.com/juegos-olimpicos/lucha/2021/08/02/610814a522601da8178b4592.html has sixth, adding Kaori Icho. Were BBC wrong ? -- Beardo (talk) 05:56, 3 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Kaori Icho won the 63kg class three times and then the 58kg class, so that does not count as the "same" event. The weight classes have often changed in wrestling^[1] (and weightlifting) so cross-time comparisons are not always clear, but there was a 63kg class in 2016 which Icho could in theory have entered instead. jnestorius^(talk) 02:00, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
