Edits by new likely sockpuppets continue to revert to include POVs and Honorifics controrary to Wikipedia policy. Even the Pope's article does not allow "His Holiness" in the introduction. Similarly, "His beatitude" is not allowed for cardinals and other clergy, for any religion; example: the Dalai Lama.

Other attempts at bias include deletion of sourced material, such as:The cardinal has found himself both within the Syrian camp and outside it [1].

The entire section "Involvement in politics" has been blatantly censored and replaced with a bold-faced POV: The cardinal always defends the independence of Lebanon, and strongly criticizes the Syrian interferences in Lebanese political affairs. He is respected by all the Lebanese... Despite its commitments to withdraw from Lebanon according to the Taif Accord, Damascus was dreaming to annex Lebanon. So it kept its <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/?go=army">army</a> and secret services in the country, which irritated the Maronite Patriarch. Sfeir was at all times a vocal critic of Syrian prevarication against the proper implementation of the Taif Accord.

Where was he born

I was reading the following in a Der Spiegel interview SPIEGEL ONLINE: Your Highness, you yourself come from the Palestinian territories. Hezbollah has always declared itself to be fighting for the "liberation" of Jerusalem. What responsibility does Lebanon have towards the Palestinians?

Sfeir: Of course we wish for the Palestinians to have their own state on their <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/archive/home">home</a> territory, just like we Lebanese have our own state. The Israeli occupation must end. But the struggle for Palestine cannot be fought from Lebanon, the smallest and weakest state in the Arab world. He was born in Reyfoon, kazaa of kesrwan, governorate of mont-liban. He is not palestinian but pure lebanese. Reyfoon is a very beautiful village at an altitude of 1200m

Article is not about the Cardinal but Political

The Cardinal is a great man and a unifying force in a divided country. As a man of the cloth, he is respected by all religions. But the main article has become a rehash of the Civil War and an advocacy of certain positions. Others could argue a different viewpoint but then the article doesn't become about Sfeir. He certainly is not afraid to speak his mind. He recently gave an interview to a Kuwaiti newspaper saying that he had advised Lahoud to quit for the good of the country andhe thought that Aoun had the (other) Nasrallah's vote for President. Again, too much Civil War detail, it needs to be condensed. Leave it for the Civil War article Godspeed John Glenn! Will 01:22, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

background near this Cardinal's photo

I was seeing a purple background. This is for a bishop who did not become Cardinal or Pope. This man did become cardinal, so after noticing the purple on March 18, 2015, I changed it the next day.

This was accomplished by the "type" parameter regarding that box. It had said "patriarch" but I changed it to "cardinal". This man, as an Eastern rite patriarch who became a cardinal, is a cardinal patriarch, ranking just after the cardinal bishops of Roman see titles. This is an unfortunate flaw in Wikipedia’s coding. The title of “Cardinal” has nothing to do with his role as Patriarch and is an honorific with no meaning to an Eastern or Oriental Patriarch or Catholicos. The title of Patriarch is superior and preeminent to that of Cardinal and it should reflect that rather than a Latin honorific that is meaningless. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.145.62.196 (talk) 02:16, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

If it were meaningless, then why did Bechara Boutros al-Rahi vote in the 2013 papal conclave?
