City name pronunciation

[edit]

It would seem relevant to include information related to the city's strange pronunciation (which differs from the name of the Native American tribe after which the city was named). Should this be added? Zach99998 (talk) 09:28, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The images are great and people are excited abotu the city, but they should be arranged as a gallery at the bottom of the page, so that readers do not have to traverse large blank spaces on the web page.Parkwells (talk) 16:52, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation

[edit]

Sol505000, I'm not sure how MOS:DIAPHONEMIC applies in this case. The way you're recasting the pronunciation sets a different syllabic break than is clear in the NPR story about the town's pronunciation. It's also different from what I heard in the six years I lived there. Carter (talk) 20:47, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest citation

[edit]

Could someone please add the source [1] to the 20th century section where it states that Juneteenth was made an official city holiday? I have a conflict of interest as it is an article I wrote for KTBS news. Though it is the only article online announcing the creation of the holiday in the city. Issues and classification

[edit]
This article, rated as Start-class. Reassess to C-class. It would not take much to have better placement. One problem, would be #1 of the B-class criteria. The categories show "Articles with unsourced statements from February 2014" and "Articles with unsourced statements from June 2018".
There is also entirely too much unsourced material. The major area of concern is that exceptional claims require exceptional sources. Some examples: More than a few unsourced sections and subsections. Other things such as "The area is part of the Chestnut Salt Dome" in the "Geology" subsection and others. -- Otr500 (talk) 01:46, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
