Meaning of the Word?
[edit]What does the word "nebulus" mean? Is it the same as "nebulous" or does it refer to the Latin word "nebulus" (pupil)? Why was this title given to the game? It would be interesting to know. --Szipucsu (talk) 19:59, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Meaning and other bits
[edit]Meaning is probably "piece of debris" (seeing the use of "nebulae" to refer to interstellar debris, hindering the player's ship in Digital Eel's "Infinite Space" dilogy. Fixed-path enemies (rolling ball and floating fixed-path enemy) are impervious to shooting. IDK if the Screencrossers are vulnerable. In Kyorochan Land, first invulnerable enemy is a vertical floater (shown as eyes in Kyorochan Land – play it on Nintendo8 to confirm). It seems to me that the only vulnerable enemy is bouncing moving ball (encountered after passing the first rolling ball in Tower of Eyes). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yura87 (talk • contribs) 09:47, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Nebulus (video game) → Nebulus – I would think far more people associate "Nebulus" with the video game rather than the German musical group Alphazone, and even they only used it as an alternative name. All the interwiki links to non-English Wikipedias are to articles titled "Nebulus". --Relisted JHunterJ (talk) 21:01, 22 June 2012 (UTC) JIP | Talk 07:00, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: I've added a note to Talk:Nebulus, since it would be affected. -- JHunterJ (talk) 21:01, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose – Since anectdotal familiarity is not a good argument, I can't use it. I have never been familiar with it, but I guess that's irrelevant for now. I object to this move because recently I have added a few more entries, such as some electronica song, and because some people might confuse it as a singular term of nebula, isn't it really? As for the video game, I don't associate the name as anything, especially the video game itself, and I think other people never will. --George Ho (talk) 01:25, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
- Factual correction: nebula (cloud) is the singular form of nebulae (clouds), not the plural of *nebulus (not a word). -- JHunterJ (talk) 14:16, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
- Comment: Of the entries listed on the disambiguation page Nebulus, only this video game actually has an article written about it. The others are just mentions on other articles. JIP | Talk 18:53, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
- Inch by Inch (pornographic film) is the only article with the same name, Inch by Inch, but is not the primary topic of all with the same name. Same for Home Is the Sailor. --George Ho (talk) 19:09, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose. I believe that most who type "nebulus" in the search are likely looking for "nebula", so it seems best for 'nebulus' to remain a dab. --→gab 24dot grab← 14:37, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- Comment: How do you explain, then, that every single one of the eight interwiki links, to the Czech, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Russian Wikipedias, are to articles about this video game, and titled simply "Nebulus"? JIP | Talk 19:01, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
- Note: I cleaned up the dab page at Nebulus per MOS:DAB. ENeville (talk) 19:31, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
