The result of the move request was: MOved to Richard Thomas (herpetologist) — Amakuru (talk) 13:44, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
John Paul Richard Thomas → Richard Thomas (zoologist) – I feel that the most natural name for this article would be "Richard Thomas (zoologist)", not his full name, given that he is overwhelmingly known as "Richard Thomas" (as far as I know, also the form he has used in all his publications), and following the principle "use the most common format of a name used in reliable sources" (WP:NCP). Tellingly, the non-existent "Richard Thomas (zoologist)" has far more incoming links that the current page title. This naming would also be consistent with the existing Category:Taxa named by Richard Thomas (zoologist) as well 4 other Wikipedias where he is featured. - When I do a google search for
Richard Thomas zoologist
the first (non-wiki) result I get is this other zoologist named Richard H. Thomas. There's also apparently a paleozoologist with the name at Leicester University. Not clear whether either is notable, but might be prudent to go with the more specific Richard Thomas (herpetologist). Colin M (talk) 15:52, 18 September 2019 (UTC) - Support Richard Thomas (herpetologist). Always better to go with the most specific title for scientists, especially if a more general title may be ambiguous. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:06, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
