This article is completely, totally, wrong. Rocco Valenti and Umberto Valenti were TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE! I don't know where this writer got his misinformation from, but there is a lot of it in the internet. It does not appear that the writer actually read the books cited since Critchley and Dash did not conflate the two people. I don't know about Sifakis, but he is not a serious researcher like the other two.
Rocco Valenti was the one who was connected with the Camorra gangsters and lived in Troy, New York. He was not Sicilian, and was not a significant member of the Camorra. Umberto Valenti, on the other hand, was Sicilian and was a member of Salvatore D'Aquila's outfit. After Valenti tried to kill Joe Masseria and missed a meeting was arranged two days later. Valenti was ambushed and killed while standing on the running board of his car in lower Manhattan in 1922. Rocco Valenti continued his life elsewhere, probably in Troy.RickW7x2 (talk) 20:34, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
