[edit]

I've made a few minor edits to the Silvanus Thompson article. I agree with the comments of user Lendorien on this page. Some Thompson-related pictures would be a nice addition. -- Astrochemist 16:21, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The second sentence of the article says that Thompson "was known for his work as an electrical engineer", but Lynch's paper (see references) seems to contradict that. Thompson was certainly a teacher and author on matters related to electricity, but was he actually an electrical engineer? Does anyone have a good answer for this? I don't. -- Astrochemist 16:50, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]

Attempted cleanup. Probably needs expert attention. Info about life/death and sourcing needed. -- Lendorien 22:39, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikified

[edit]

I have just done some minor editing to include more wikilinks. -- DFH 19:58, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bootham school image

[edit]

Here is a (rather low quality) image of the plaque for Thompson, at the Bootham School in York, that could be used in the article. If considered suitable, higher quality images might be forthcoming. There is a much better image here, but I'm not sure of the copyright status. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 09:38, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
